for a beginner what is the best fit for longboard?

I live in a city, and I want to enjoy the ride in the city and outside.

Gimme some help, please.

The Apex'es work well in the cities (assuming you want have tricks included in your ride style). The Apex 40 kicks help out for sure in that regard.

For pure cruising the Pintails would also work. Depends on your ride style. Hit us with your height / weight and what type of riding you would like to do and we can probably help out more.

Hi guys,

I want to buy a longboard for beginner, I'd use it for sliding, carving, downhill.

What is a good fit for a beginner? I mean, is it a good fit for my feet and easy maneuver (sliding, carving) for the learning phase?

I've seen freeride models, I'm affraid of concave deck. Should I? Best fit for deck size/wheels/trucks for beginner in the city/terrain? If it's necessary my weight is: 110 lbs. My height is: 5 feet 6 inch

@itsover55 I think there is an online registration near the date of the event, but it's more to get an idea of how many people are going to attend. Most people just show up the day of.

I'm looking for a board that can cruise smoothly and quietly ,make sharp sudden turns, can slide well and easily ,carving ,and do minor to major hills.sharp turns as in like havin city obstacles and can maneuver thru easily

@enjoi679 the freeride 38 with rocker concave would be a good board for you. I would also suggest getting bear trucks with it, and keeping the stock bushings in. This set up can still make quick enough turns at lower speeds if you need to avoid obstacles while commuting, but it's also stable enough for larger hills and faster speeds.

@enjoi679 you would like either the Malakai 40 or the Torpedo 40. They both ride the same, but the Torpedo has a kick tail which may help you with getting off curbs. These boards are flexible and can carve easily. With some harder wheels you'll be able to slide. You may want to put some red springs in your trucks for stability on hills.

@enjoi679 or if u r looking for an affordable good board that has good bearings and awesome deck and all of that get a palisades....i have the palisades art series drew brophy (the smaller board in that series... and itflows good and has amazing trucks...with like abec 10 bearings.....they also have the alisades crush series..all of that... and it is awesome

@izzie833 it all depends on the type of riding you're looking to do. If you're a beginner, check out either the Pintail 37, Malakai 40, or the Torpedo 40. They're all great for carving, cruising, and smaller hills. The Pintail is easier to learn on and is much stiffer. The Malakai and Torpedo are both flexier and great for carving.
