i love the chrome.haven't seen this before.looks really sharp.nice choice and what a great job you did with it all.Coaly has an awsome pad thanks to you :)
i myself have just got a bunny last week.used my dog crate for her the first few hours when bringing her home.then went second hand local add shopping online and found a better temperary cage.the biggest one on the market sadly :(
so i am planning on makeing a cage like yours.thanks for showing your cage and tips :)
I have two mini rexes who are in an x pen style nic cage. they never used their second and third levels, so i removed them and just gave them more floor space. And I have a little holland lop baby who is in a condo, who figured out how to jump out the 1x2 space that I had let open for easier cleaning. Please note that it is 2 cubes high there. Atlas knows his mommy is not amused.
hay cool cage but maybe put ladders or something for ur rabbits to get to the higher floors? bcuz if they kick to hard and miss that floor they can hurt their back and legs severely
Im thinking about getting a bunny at my dads house for my future guinea pig and ferrets... GOOD IDEA :D.. OKAY BUT can bunnies jump that high fromt those levels.. Thats awesoem!
@Amy199able Unless you have a really small bunny, 2lbs or less, jumping shouldn't be a problem. The biggest obstacle is surface type. If you choose a slippery surface, it will make things much more difficult for them. You can always choose to lower the levels to the appropriate height for your bunny.
@lizzygregson Carpet is just old carpet from the room which I had removed earlier. I punctured it and threaded zip ties through it to secure it. Most carpet retailers sell inexpensive fragments, you could also use a large welcome mat, or possibly try looking at craigslist for carpet.
@atixheli Very much so. The key is to buy good quality zip ties. Once the cube is built, the entire structure is quite strong. Strong enough to place fairly heavy items on top.
@RamboBunBun Hey RamboBB, thanks for the comments. It took about 6 hours for the initial build spread over two days. It gone through quite a few improvements since then and will likely evolve even further, but that's the great thing about NIC cages, they are highly and most importantly easily adaptable.

wow that looks really cool. Did you find the rabbit chewed on the carpet a lot or did it work out ok? thanks!
gateauxQ 2 months ago
@gateauxQ My buns don't usually dig in carpet as long as there is plentiful amounts of hay and toys, so no issues here.
