  • I must say my friend, You must make a Christmas Album!!

  • I favorited almost all your vids, Dante, and play them in my rancho in Costa Rica for guests as a joyful complement to the jungle. Where can I buy your CD's? What 2 keys do you most play a duo with, and where do you recommend I buy hang drums?

  • @VivaLaRaw Thanks! My CD's are out of print at the moment, but you can download the MP3's on iTunes or CDBaby. I'll have more CDs soon on CDBaby, so check back in a month or two. The two keys I have are D minor and F major. To look into buying a handpan, check out your options here: (w w w) . hangdrumsandhandpans . com/p/all-of-handpans . html

  • amazing

  • Fan of ur FanFare ....

Keep up the good work ...

  • u guys are good

  • Man u rock! Great sound. Thanks for sharing such beautiful work.

  • rock on bro. Your one of the only people I can watch each of their hang drums songs and actually be impressed.

  • what scale would you be using here? also, i'm a little rusty with my time signatures, but would this be a 6/8? or am i counting that wrong...

  • This whould be nice to do when your stoned :D feel the harmony

  • where can i get one of these?

  • :O he looks like hagrid and has a friend named ron.

  • this is the music to suck a bong 2 ;)

  • It's really sad this instrument is not called a "wang".

  • That has to be the most angelic thing I have ever witnessed. You are here as an activator of higher awareness. Blessings and gratitude.

  • Haha he kinda looks like the bed intruder guy! (He's not looking like the bed intruder, but as the guy who talks about him)

Now go "run tell that, homeboy"

  • this music is just awsome.. i need to buy one of those things! :)

  • To the "skill discussion" - as a musicologist I can say only one thing... music is not about skill, music is about what you want or what you have to "say" :)

Skill is only good to help you make it more (or less -what you prefer :D) understandable :D

  • oohhhhhmmmmmm

  • Would you mind telling me what scale this hang is in? I'm spiritually, not musically, inclined and am therefore terrible with these things...

  • its cool at first...but gets lame real fast...kinda like wind chimes

  • play the halo theme

  • far out man!

  • This is very interesting, thank you. This is new to me. To me it's a one way drive no sharp or flat but sounds only. Good, i like it. It is a man that makes mistakes not instruments.

  • so lovely!!

  • how do you get so many hangdrums? even if this is your friends, do you like know someone personally that makes em? or do you actally order them? and if so, from who? id like to purchase one.

  • They're cool, they accompany native american flute very well too.

  • After seeing these videos,

    I want one

    Awesome stuff

  • Hehe, yea, if you're ready to wait for a couple of years and have $1500 to spare.

  • absolutely beautiful.

  • thank you for sharing the music you found through such a beautifully simple instrument, you have inspired me and calmed my nerves ;~)

  • AHH! It does remind me of Spyro!

  • It reminds me of chrono trigger...

  • потрясающе!!!

  • vote . dantebucci . com

  • @mutlunatic How much are these drums running now? When i first discovered them for my self they were upwards of $1000 USD. I really want to get one but I don't have that kind of money.

  • It's so upbeat, I can't help but dance! ^o^ I'd love to buy soundtracks of anything you've got! :D

  • cool drum

  • This instrument is for sale?

  • there are just very few ...

you must go to switzerland (they invented the hang)

and if you have luck you can get one for 800-1200€

  • Is it just me or does this music remind you of the original Spyro the Dragon games? =D

  • YES. XD I was wondering why I couldn't help but feel so happy. ^.^

  • it so does!

  • na, it kinda remind me too.

  • @cyclopcow wooouh youre right!

  • @cyclopcow yeah, i figured some kind of music theme for a video game :D

  • @cyclopcow lol i've downloaded the torrent just a week ago, now i listen to spyro the dragon themes once a day xD try ozric tenctacles - spacebase, it sounds something like the latest spyro games ;D

  • @cyclopcow It really does! DANG! I want to play spyro now! I havent played that in years! Thanks for the reminder :)

  • @cyclopcow

And, the Udu totally reminds me of Crash Bandicoot.

  • @cyclopcow o.o it sounds just like one of the songs.

  • OMG! It Does! tis epic tho! nice job man :)

  • @cyclopcow or Jak and Daxter legend of the precursor

  • @cyclopcow man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! me too

  • i want one realy badly... im not even in any type of percution but these sound to cool to not want to know how to play

  • look up: TurtlePan, Eclipse 1tone, Pantheon Halo, Hapi Drum, Hank Drum, and the Double TongGong. because a real Hang you'll probably never get a hold of but all of those are the closest i've found.

  • si tratta di uno steel drum svizzero, meno nobile, con bordone....

  • wunderbar!

  • Fantastic.

That is a very interessting instrument and your music sounds great.

    i like it.

  • stranissimo

  • hi i really want one ... I want to buy one.. could you tell me where I buy one?

  • Yeah sorry to tell you this but from what I've learned, it's VERY hard to buy them. You can't buy them online. You actually have to go to Switzerland (NO BULLSHIT) and they only make a "handful" of them every year, and you can expect to pay at least $500+ USD for one.

  • jesus christ! i thought you were bullshitting him. but i looked it up. seriously?!?! that's ridiculous!

  • music is not ridicolous.

  • okay... but i didn't say that.

  • you got 7-15000 USD? Not talking about how long it takes to wait for one...

  • Google is your friend :)

  • GRANDE DANTE!!!!

  • This is very beautiful. I have never heard of such an instrument! I will absolutely be looking this up!!

  • Sounds Great Man.I like All of Your Performances.

Where you Put your Mic's ?

  • You can attach a pick up to a part of the top of the drum if you want to pick it up for ultimate tone.

I think this was recorded with an external mic. I can't be sure of course.

Good playing! Keep it up :) .

  • ever since i first heard the hang drum i have been in love with the beautiful sound it produces, im thinking of buying one dont know how it would sit next to my tenor sax though haha

  • Is this sound recorded via the cameras own mic or a mic connected to the hang drum? If it's the cams bulid in mic then hang drums sound must be really powerful.

  • not all hanghang are tuned in a linear scale, and also with the ones that are it depends on the player to use all of the scales character ...

  • There is no such thing as a wrong note, as Frank Zappa would. The thing that makes the Hang great is also it's own downfall. The linear scale is it's limit, but if you have two or more in different scales, that is when it becomes interesting.

  • I have to Ebay(dot)Com (press worldwide) a original PanArt Hang Drum incl. Bag for sale. Price 1200CHF Shipping Worldwide.

    Greetings from Switzerland Fly-To-Psy

  • this is one of the best videos of Bucci's playing, in my opinion.

  • spot on Yeah?

  • dude....awesome.

  • niiice!! i love it!! i HAVE to get one of these. <3

    Beautiful man. :)

  • sound like th high espheres!

  • How much doobage do you need to smoke before you truly become a Hang Master...Stoned cuisine for sure.

  • baruk86, all instrument have the very same quality. In all things the only limit is the imagination. The Hang, while a very pleasing sound is no more unique than a steel drum or an urhu.

  • ummmm stfu

obviously diff drums make diff sounds and yes imagination is a factor but it doesnt change the sound created just the soundS heard

  • Most instruments require skill. This thing doesn't have that limit.

The only limit is the imagination.

  • All instruments require skill, this hang drum is no different. That is probably the most absurd statement about music I have read in quite some time. Yes, playiing the hang requires skill, I dare you to say that to a hang player. Nice way to offend a musician, tell them their instrument requires no skill. Obviously you are not a musician.

  • You seem to be misunderstanding everyone...

My pont is, ths thing is MADE to be basic. The makers advertise it as being easy to learn how to play (or atleast they do that with the HAPI drum, but it's the same thing) and it is, compared to a guitar or a full drum kit for example.

+, the notes on this thing follows a scale, so there's no way you can hit any "wrong" tones, which makes it easier.

  • I agree with Daxtajak - the Hang is invented to be a tool for meditation, so it is designed to sound good without much effort. However - there are those of us (like me and some other musicians) who use the Hang to write songs. In this way, you can hit a wrong note because a good musician knows how to play a Hang in different keys.

  • Obviously you are not a musician nor one that respects music. If you think it requires no skill what so ever get a hang drum in a week, than show me your talent....

  • Anybody could turn the most simple of ideas into a complex thing, but when it boils down to it, it's still a simple idea.

The hang is one of those simple ideas. Not every thing is Dream Theater and Necrophagist. Sorry.

  • you act like only technically challenging music is worth listening to. it may be an old fashioned idea, but all instruments start as a simple idea, such as folk guitar and childrens tunes on the piano. you should understand that its very snobby to rank instruments by level of notated and recorded difficulty

    d(-_-)b

  • You took what I was saying wrong. I listen to brian eno. Enough said.

  • i agree whole heartedly

  • @Grymnysmal I'm primarily a percussionist, and people tell me all the time (usually jokingly) that my instrument requires no skill. Even as a joke it makes me want to hand them a pair of drumsticks and say "All right, then, play sixteenth note flam taps at 200 bpm if it's so easy."

  • @DrummerCoCa - I think what they mean is, "No matter how little you know about drumming, it's impossible to make this instrument sound as bad as a newbie with a violin or a clarinet."

  • @Grymnysmal for some people it is not skill, it just comes naturally. a lot of people aren't even aware they possess it.

  • Like a harmonica, huh?even if you miss a note it seems quite easy to compensate.

  • i want a damn hang drum whereererere

  • This instrument is amazing...

I think the music that comes form it has only the limits of your own imagination... it has so many different sound that every peace is unique

  • Hey! HOW DIFFICULT IS A HANG TO PLAY FOR A COMPLETE novice Be truthfull

  • Does it matter if you can't get your hands on it? Besides, difficult is completely subjective.

  • Basically, if you have good control over dynamics with your hands (drumming helps a lot) and have an ear for combining a few scale's notes into great melodies...

...then it shouldn't be too hard.

  • im a metalhead but i cud easly sit here n chill to this all day! i want one !!

  • im with you on that one

  • i agree completely, i think they're amazing and are searching for one at the moment, unfortunately they are very rare to find in places other that ebay

  • Hang Drum Slayer imo.

  • How come this one is not on your CD, Dante? This is my ultimate fave.

  • ahh, because it's a borrowed hang! Ron Kravitz sold this one so I couldn't borrow it again when it came time to record for the CD. I'm not even sure what scale this is...

  • @mutlunatic Beautiful playing! It's the mixolydian mode, with the flat 7 and major 3rd. It's the mode starting on G following all the white notes on a keyboard.

    Keep up the good work.

  • where can I find an hang drum?? please tell me!!

  • there only sold in switzerland, only 400 are made a year, so the waiting list is really long and it takes over a year to get one. i wouldnt be suprised if a mega company bought the rights to make them and theyll be easier to get

  • Pantheon steel

  • its weird..i like country and rock allthough i can just sit here and listen that..awesome

  • This is so very cool, very nice, tx for posting!

  • sounds cool

  • Such a high-spirited piece! Totally refreshing, after hearing a lot of dark, odd compositions.

  • that so cool

    i want one of those

  • that's quite the stuff , labyrinthe of plethoras, been saving up for one. direct me

  • i love the way it sounds

  • i can't even put words on how nice hangdrums sound it's amazing

  • Hey i have an idea! Why don't we clone you a few million times and put you on every street corner playing your stuff and we'll have world peace in no time at all!

Hats off to you mate... really wonderful stuff!

  • ME WANT!!!

  • wow, that must be an incredibly zen experience to play one of those. I'm so envious!

  • zenvious

  • bwaahhahahahah! Nice!

    Serioulsy though - nice piece..

  • How much are these things???

this produces the most beautiful sound ever!

I fell in love with this instrument.

  • Hi there. where did you get the instrument from? Really cool. Keep it up.

  • i dont know where he got his from but you have to go to switzerland and buy one personally from the two guys that make them there, they run about 1600 us last time i checked.

  • are you really good, or is that just a great Hang? it sound out of this world

  • heh, I dunno... check my other vids, I use different Hangs in those. :-)

  • I think the answer is:

    Yes.

    =)

  • you say its got a differin scale, is it made by the same company, or is it a different cheaper alternative? cause im 15, if i start saving now i could prob aford a hang wen im bout 25! ta

  • Pero que te crees, no es para tanto jodio chichon.

El cacharro mola pero tu no

  • ohhhhhh so they do come in all shapes and sizes? nice.

  • Looks like they stole the idea from the steel (44 gallon drums) of the Caribbean but instead used a WOK and lid that gave a lighter sound. It sounds beautiful but still it's an expensive cooking utensil.

  • lmao @ canturgan

  • Looks like the streets will be full of drugged up Eco Buskers just in time for the summer.

  • you are the best man!!

  • This thing sounds like garbage. It's a bad alternative. I'd rather wait years and get a Hang, then get something thats bad like this. Not worth it to anyone who says, "oh this sounds like an interesting proposition!". No, don't sqaunder your money that you could be using to save for a Hang.

  • What was this a reply to?

  • Ahh, sorry guys, this was ment to be a reply to someone's add for tribalthunder's version.

  • Hahaha, that works ^^;

  • Thanks for your opinion, I hope you do get your hang drum soon. The Oscar is not a Hang and can not be compared to one. Each musical artist seeks a unique sound. The Oscar might just be that sound. Let each decide for themselves. Peace

  • this is the most asome thing ever because soem one is using that as medal drum and i might even make one and the put it on youtube of me playing it it is going to be soooo sweet

  • Great stuff man! Good composition on this one. Very relaxing.

  • perfect listening on a sunday morning

  • yea me 2 i can smell incense to

  • I hate you because you have a hang drum and i don't :(

  • dude it was sooo wierd right when i started watching this video i thought i smelled incense!

  • that sounds is really relaxin'

  • hey man, can this instrument be played along with a song? or along with another instrument?

  • What kind of a dumb ass question is that?

  • couldn't you pardon my ignorance....this is my first time seeings and hearing of a hang drum and I am yet to see it played along with any actual songs....

  • can you not appreciate a talent, or type f music foriegn to you?

just because he isnt rocking to zep

    doesnt mean this isnt awesome

    great vid man, thx.!

  • can i eat french fries with ketchup? or with mayo??

  • i laughed so much just now i think i wet a little!

  • what i think the guy meant is the hang drum only played as a solo instrument? cos I cant find any vids where a hang drum isn't played on its own :)

  • There's one floating around with a violin. I don't have the link handy at the moment, but it's on YT.

  • on my CD I have tracks with Hang and Harp, Hang with drums and bass, Hang with Flute, Hang with Theremin... there's lots of possibilities!

  • why would you not be able to play this with another song or instrument?

  • Beautiful! Thanks for the treat!

  • Very nice song!

  • Where can I get one!

  • Not to change the subject too much , but does anybody know the name of the instrument that Benjamin Franklin invented that used a spinning glass cylinder that spun in water and you just touched it and achieved the same sound as rubbing your finger around the rim of a glass but with more control and tonal variance ?

  • Also, on another note (la): there is a cool prog-rock band called Glass Harp, featuring Phil Keaggy (one of the best guitarists ever), that was popular in the '60s & '70s, that has a lot of good pieces on YouTube from their reunion tours in recent years, as well as their own website--the band chose an apt name for a totally unique sound that is one of the coolest available; both Glass Harp, and the glass harmonica, have a corner on their own brands of cool, just like this Hang Drum. Enjoy!

  • glass armonica

  • glass harmonica i think...

  • I can't really understand the hype to be honest. this hang thing is quite simply a bastardised version of something else and not very original at all.

  • and what would be that 'something else' my friend?

  • A bastardized steel drum.

  • that something else would be a steel drum which your super hang things sounds and looks just like albeit inverted

  • so i can just get a steel drum and get the same sound without having the hassle to locate one of these?

  • correct

  • ok..will do so if you say so..

    peace.
