wanna hear a funny story, I was explaning this to a friend and as we past by a streetlight it turned off, i asked him if he saw it he said no, then he was being sarcastic and said it should happen again in 3, 2, 1, and BOOM another light turned off i looked at him and Grinned.
Its usually street lights that seem to be in the "dieing phase" when it happens to me. Sometimes my presence turns them off (or on if they are already off). I've experimented on this for many years & i noticed certain people that i have with me effect the street lights in varying ways. Tonight, i proved to a friend that it's real. My friend didn't have an "effect" on the street light, so i demonstrated by turning it on twice withing 30 seconds. She was certainly convinced that it's paranormal.
Another thing to consider as one fellow below mentioned the 'cycling' system of most (all?) standard street lamps is to that some are actually equipped with motion sensors - usually found in the parking lot type lamps which are admittedly different from street lamps but something to consider - having said that I have always had an AFFECT television and radios, usually causing major static or volume increases/distortion when I walk by .. which couldnt be ascribed to externals like power lines.

It had happened to me many times and I always thought its a funny coincidence but last night it turned really freaky! I was walking down the street and suddenly a lamp went on when I got 3-4 meters from it, I didn't even realize there was a street lamp there.I kinda laughed with it but when I got about the same distance away from the lamp post it went off again! Usually they turn off when I'm almost under it, the thing is it usually happens when I don't think about it...
It's not you dude it's the light. It's called a High Pressure Sodium light which requires an ignitor or "ballast" to ignite the sodium gasses, and when these ignitors wear out it over works itself causing the light to go out, cools for about a minute, then restarts again. This process is called cycling
I cannot turn them off as most people here but they turn on for me. I can do it when i want it to within 2-4 seconds after thinking about it. I was outside and told my friend I would turn a light on the corner on and it did within a few secs. he said it was just a coincidence. haha Maybe I'll post a vid when I have a chance.
This has been happening to me for over 30 years. Recently I wen to our local YMCA and every light in the lot went ou when I passed under them. My kids were with me and we all got a big kick out of it. Some of the light went out several times. I wish I could control it.
Hi, Im from Argentina. I started to note this phenomenon the same night when my grandfather died about 20 years ago. I never put much attention to this, other than for impressing people after some party. The only relation I found is that it usually happens when I'm stressed or in some specific emotional conditions. I'm sceptical. Today, I looked for information in google just for curiosity and found several hits about this so called "SLIDERS". I'm surprised (frustrated ?) than I'm the only one.
I guess I'm a SLIder myself. I have to constantly maintain a stable almost neutral emotional state around electronics or they will act up. I've already fried my fair share of computers. As for street lamps, if I'm upset while driving or walking around one they will go out. When it happens it tends to shock me out of the upset mood.
dude i get this when i'm on these HBWR seeds. I get these mad head pressures & projection type activity. I just went for a bike ride on this shit and three street lights in a row went off! it is definetely a perturbance thing, like when you're up in your head and out of harmony with natural flow of things. that's when you disturb electrical things.
If you look at the the video of mine that I responded with, I own this fixture, this lamp does this to all fixtures, no matter what fixture I use, it does it due to bad lamp. They don't have a filament in it but gases, so instead of simply off, they just have hard time sustaining an arc, making it cycle...and when it gets dim, it's attempting to restrike with an ignitor and a ballast inside the fixture, HPS are complex lights with a ballast, an ignitor and sometimes a compactor.
This is a HPS, they do that when the bulb is worn out, I have a video of my own fixture with an old worn out lamp that does it, relamping it solves the issue, I also have friends working on those streetlights. Do you even notice only the orange ones (which are high pressure sodiums) are mostly commonly doing it and not others? It's a cycling HPS because of a worn lightbulb
Please STOP with this SLI bullshit! It's normal that high pressure sodium, metal halide and (rarely) mercury vapor lamps cycle when reaching their end of life! Instead bullshitting on paranormal powers "involved in SLI" go and study something about the inner working of these lamps and their ballast!
@mary5709 So you really can shut off any type of streetlight (fluorescent, low or high pressure sodium, mercury vapour, metal halide, etc...) of any power rating (50 to 2000w) simply by walking under it? Where's the proof?
Just for your information, high pressure sodium lamps (gold yellow light) and metal halide lamps (blue to white light) tend to turn off and on repeatedly when at their end of life. It's called "cycling" and can be easily give the impression that is you influencing the lamp
@mima14031985 It's not just street lights it's lights in stores also sorry i didn't have a camer video on me at the time this happens but it did.I don't have to prove this to anybody. It's not called cycling when you can will it by your fingertips or thoughts. It's okay if you don't want to believe.I know what happen to my daughter and i
@mary5709 If you say "it's not bullshit" you have to prove why, otherwise these remain words.
I know how discharge lamps (those used in streetlights, shops, etc) works, and every SLI case I saw or heard of is justifiable with bad bulb or fixture behaviour, for example due to a failing lamp, ballast, wiring, photocell, etc.
Touching the lamp goes automatically out from SLI as there's a physical interaction between you and the lamp, and a loose contact can break just with a slight touch
@mary5709 I misunderstood when you said "when you can will it by your fingertips", I thought you talked about touching the lamp.
A discharge lamp which turn on and off itself repeatedly IS called cycling. All documentations about lamps say this.
I personally don't care about proofs (I was talking in general), as I know what SLI is: people fooled by a cycling discharge lamp, thinking they're influencing it, and don't accept the simple explanation of a dying lamp or bad fixture causing this :-P
I think it has to do with the government.... perhaps we are all chipped by the government and some of our chips have kinks in them... and it interferes with street light frequencies... eh? I have proof too! Two videos on SLI! Check em out!
I used to tell folks about this and they'd dismiss it as if I were nuts....I would ride my bike around town and just too many times when I'd go under a street light it would go out....People would say "oh it just a bad ballast in the light" but what are the possibilities of it happening when I ride under....maybe 6-7-lights in a 10 miniute ride?
Some electric companies don't do good job fixing them, I live near the border of a electric company territory, and the one next to me al ot of the lights are always lit during the day because they dont replace photocells, and a lot of the high pressure sodium cycling (going off and on) while mercury vapor is very dim there, my electric company changes photocells every few years same for the lamps, so there's a lot less cyclers. So it depends on electric company and how well they service lights.
Wow. I thought I was the only one. I do the same thing with traffic lights. My friends never beleived it, but I swear, I could make them change, and it was always easier after engaging in some mental activity, like calculus.
Why would you post an identical message on every S.L.I. video on youtube? One is plenty, if someone is trying to find all they can on the topic, they'll likely watch all or most of the videos in that category, so to give the same 'explanation' 40 times is just redundant...and yes, im done complaining now
Hey, Its good to see there are finally people talking about this. I too am an "electric person". About 5 years ago I couldn't find anything about this on the internet. I was typing all sorts of things into google but never found a thing. Now, that I found some author coined the phrase "SLIders"(Street Lamp Interference) I've just now gotten to see there are many others. None of my buddies believed me until one night I showed them HARD EVIDENCE. They didn't know how to respond. Felt good!
Don't worry what people say. I've been a slider all of my adult life. Sometimes it's stronger and sometimes not as strong.... depends on my emotional state. But I've turned THOUSANDS of streetlights off.... and some on. It's a weird thing. Totally useless and uncontrollable..... but.... there it is. Peace bro. Tom 8-)>
Usually when you try to prove it, it doesn't work so well. I suspect the interference happens when you're in a certain state of mind and when you become conscious that you interfered with the street lamp the interference stops. Who really knows
@Koyukonn I have a couple of theory's about this alien implants or government implants or telekenesis. My daughter and i have it ,it tends to run in families also
@mary5709 Soo convenient you reply to my comment after 2 years where last night for the first time in 2 years me and a mate were just discussing this very topic. Very coincidental timing..

You do know that there is a very string connection between SLI and alien abduction. Many abductees report SLI and other electromagnetic interference.
Some speculate that it is due to the implants that the alleged abductors leave behind. Maybe you are not the cause of the SLI, but the effect????

SLIders are just people who are overly observant and tend to notice patterns.
I am one also. Have been for about 15 years now. I believe I do not make the lights go on or off. I just notice them more than others.
When 3-5 lights go out on a 20 minute drive it does make me curious but I still believe its just im more aware of these things
