After years of thinking that Unionized employees at universities had the same interests as them, these kids finally smartened up. It's Vulgar Marxism, stupid! The Unions care about THEIR interests, not yours. The NDP is in the pockets of the unions & doesn't give a shit about students.
Free tuition would be possible, at current funding levels, by cutting expendatures ~30%. This could be done with contracting out some services, reducing overstaffing and eliminating overpaid tenured positions.
Yeah, you're right. EVERYONE is losing their jobs. Everyone. We're at a 100% unemployment rate. Good job! Stop sensationalizing. Are people losing jobs? Yes. Are businesses closing? Yes. But I was at Yorkdale last week and I had a hard time finding parking on a Tuesday afternoon. So give me a break with this whole everyone is losing jobs crap. It's not true. Even so, during a recession the post-secondary education sector benefits! People start going back to improve skills. This isn't an excuse.
I cant believe the ignorance that im reading, i seriously hope your not a TA, but at this point i dont see any other person supporting the union. Do you think maybe people crowding yorkdale might have anything to do with christmas... oh ya and ppl never spend outside of their means on christmas time...Oh ya and economic trouble is only when a country absolutely crumbles, right??? just like global warming is noticed only when the earth spontaneously combusts.
oh right.. and all those new students i kept seeing at york... they must be all those laid off auto industry workers... because the first thing a person who has done the same manual labor for 20 years is go get a university degree... at 50 years old.

I love how at the end of this video there are so many people sitting there, and a few days ago it was reported that the number had dropped to 21.
