Ok, I pluged a 2TB external HD on the router and get it to work. My idea was to have access to videos and pictures on my smart tv. But the transfering to the HD is so slow. To copy a 3gb video from my mac to the hd takes around 30 minutes, and the tv keep bufering each 20 seconds any movie.
oh, by the way: can you link into individual files from a website? As in if I have a website on which I want to stream a video hosted on my hdd attached to the router, is that possible?
i have a 3tb WD external hard drive. I partitioned it into 1.5 and 1.3 tb hoping that now the router will detect but i still get WD My Book 1130 unmounted. Can you please tell me if there is any way i can use my 3TB hard drive with this router?
" Thank you for the video! Everything follows up to typing into "RUN" "\\RT-N56U". I get an error message saying "Windows cannot access \\RT-N56U" Detail states "Error code 0x80070035 The network path was not found" I can see the USB drive in the browser. Any help wold be greatly appreciated.
Windows 7 Ultimate 64b"

I have enabled everything and firewall off, restart router. I see the usb disc in my network map at 192.1681.1. But cant enter it from run in windows...
Its something with my pc beacause it has worked but not now :(
I had the same problem and I was desperately changing my settings for couple of hours. The problem vanished when I changed my Kaspersky antivirus settings and set my home network as "trusted network".
You can find aditional tips by searching "Error Message: Windows cannot access \\ and Error Code 0x80070035" the seconf result form answers.microsoft had a couple of good tips
The solution was right under my nose, Network Neighborhood Share under USB Application has to be Enabled Share, in order for you to gain access to it through Windows network.
Hello Everyone, Quite a few people have been experianceing random problems with the usb ftp function, as have I.
there are a few random things you can do to try fixing this but they are very tempermental which is a shame. it seems this feature is not as good as it is made out to be.
If your having a problem with accessing the drive //rt-n56u from the run command try:(check next post)

Hi. Is wake on LAN functional. Especially from internet or does the USB harddisk will be on always? Great videos from you about the router mate. Thanks
If wired: with cat 6 cable, each cable not exceeding 5m. Large file transfer or HD streaming is unlike anything you will have ever seen, Lightening Quick.
Same goes for wifi, With no filters av firewall interfearing on a 5g frequency the transfer speed is super fast.

How tight is the security for this? As in how easy would it be for anyone to hack into my disk? :S

I can log on it, but when I open the folder, there is nothing.

Can't you map the network drive? Then it should be treated like a normal usb drive and show up in my computer.
