  • @PhysXProg it has whats called a piezo pickup in the bridge

  • Al Di Meola would love this :)

  • MALMSTEEN!

  • Hmmmmm... No.

  • do a video with this with distortion

  • yep...no wedding band.

  • That's great. I suppose the alternative is a modelling guitar like a line 6 or Line 6 gizzards but yours looks a hell of a lot better.

  • this is awesome, there isn't enough solid body nylons in the world

  • sounds quacky, like a duck

  • ma il 2012 ke kitarre ti tira fuori????prima le chitarre scaloppate adesso le stratoclacic/acoustic(sputare alle strato solite,xò mancano i pick up e al ponte c'è il piezo)curioso xdxd

  • MALMSTEEN!!! he used this guitar!! BTW you got some kickass playing going on there!

  • Wow its amazing! So are you Brother! Love your sound. Does it have to be scalloped for the nylon strings?

  • What is the point?

  • sounds unreal

  • Once you have perfected it would you consider making them for people? If so how much would it cost?

  • that sounds great, but how did you hold those nylon strings on the bridge men?

  • will it work with a normal piezo??????

  • Damn... I kinda wanted to hear it overdriven. Beautiful playing by the way :)

  • what song r u playing?

  • Dear Santa.....

  • How did you make that guitar? How much did it cost?

  • Looks like what Yngwie Mamlsteen uses!!

  • are those frets scalloped?

  • @jakeloreficemusic looks like it i think

  • @jakeloreficemusic It says so in the description.

  • @jakeloreficemusic Yep :)

  • @lavendell are those frets prawned?

  • this might sound dumb but cant u just put nylon strings on a normal guitar

  • @UmeenJim Think about how regular pickups work for a second...

  • @UmeenJim No, that wouldn't work.

  • @lavendell , just a piezo pickup? And is the neck a standard length? I'm absolutly astonished

  • @UmeenJim The resonance of the nylon won't be picked up by the magnet-based pickups :)

  • @UmeenJim the metal in normal nickel-based strings gives pickups something to, wel... pick up, because pickups are simply magnets.

  • it the neck scalloped or is it just me?

  • @SpenserAteTheWorld No it's scalloped

  • That's actually a very pretty sound.

  • where is a pick up?????????

  • @SweetRAXAT its got a piezo pickup.its a pickup hidden in the bridge

  • nigga stole my pickup

  • IF U DONT LOOK AT THE VIDEO THE GUITAR TURNS INTO ACOUSTIC :P

  • Your playing hypnotized me

  • Fender NEEDS to release this !

  • @AJFedora I agree! :)

  • /watch?v=ZKMsXBfXbbk&feature=related )))

  • scalloped frets?

  • Amazing!

  • whats the musical piece at 0:12 ?

  • @hiddenpunk291 i dont know what its called, but ynwie malmsteen plays it alot in his acoustic live solos

  • Fucking wow...

  • Always wanted to try making a nylon strat personally, cool to see it done.

  • that is so sick

  • from the description:

"Fender tremolo bridge with piezo pick-ups on the bridge saddles"

    piezo pickups.

  • no pickups??

  • it have mics in the pickguard??

  • sounds like malmsteen

  • Cool thing you did there! You sounded like malmsteen, on the ovation, except that your in a strat , ive also heard of people using piano strings on an electric, but for my ears nylon was a first!

  • how does it pick up sound?

  • @PhysXProg : Hi ! I answer cause I know how the sound is taken : with piezo ! There's no magnetic mic., like in the Stratocasters, exactly like for the Line6 Variax (you can have 50 different sounds of great guitars, and the sound is taken by a Piezo). In fact, I've read that it's writen under the video...;BYE !

  • @PhysXProg piezo pickup, cuz the nylon strings would go totally un noticed by normal pickups

  • @PhysXProg It's a Piezo bridge

  • @PhysXProg Probably has a metal core inside of the strings

  • @PhysXProg it has a piezo pick up in the bridge

  • @PhysXProg bridge is my best guess!

  • @PhysXProg Piezo, didn't you read the description?

  • @PhysXProg a microphone...

  • @jimelzenga NOPE! Please stop commenting if you have no idea. He uses a Piezo Pickup...

  • @PhysXProg with a Piezo Pickup

  • @PhysXProg Demon magic ;-)

  • @PhysXProg There is a pickup under the bridge often called a piezo , how do I know? I worked with Sadowsky Guitars who makes a nylon telecaster.

  • @PhysXProg Piezo pickups in the Fender bridge's saddles.

  • @PhysXProg Through the Piezo p/u I would imagine?

  • Comment removed

  • @PhysXProg they pickups are under the pickguard if i remember correctly. it might use the same pickup technology as the short-lived fender marauder. not exactly sure, but that's my best guess

  • @PhysXProg piezo.

  • @PhysXProg the pickup is in the bridge

  • good playing,sound I don't like

  • This is awesome. I'm going to try making one for myself. Any thing I should watch out for?

  • How do you put those strings on the Strat I was going to on mine but i have no idea

  • mijfenders dot c o m/gallery/YJMClassicgallery

The guitar that has inspired him. Well, plain guessing

  • youtube.com/watch?v=UxcWzkrza44

    youtube.com/watch?v=ZKMsXBfXbbk

  • really nice!cool sound...when u make the next model send me the old one please :P

  • GREAT SOUND!!!

  • This particular guitar, listed in the Japanese Fender catalog as model STCL-140YM.

  • "The Japanese Fender factory has taken up manufacturing of this special model, a solid-body nylon-string Stratocaster (do notice that there are no pickups and only a volume knob). It requires a 9 volt battery, is made of basswood, has a scalloped maple neck and 6 Mike Christian (US) pickups.

The original model, built around 1997/1998 by the US Custom Shop for Yngwie Malmsteen."

  • That sounds lovely.

  • Yngwie Malmsteen will love it :-|

  • How do you fasten the strings????at the bridge i mean????

  • I mean look at the end of the fret board you can see it. Thats where it normally goes and it looks like its there

  • OMG DUDE IT'S A NANO MAG!!!!

  • Great! i have made a guitar like that today, and btw the action is supposed to be high or it wont sound good.

  • Great sound'...But how is it amplified without steel strings...Do you use accoustic pickups..?

  • @Jangalene1 Piezoelectric pickups, possibly, but I'm just gonna go ahead and say it's witchcraft.

  • @CloudiHoe Maybe'...You could be right?..But that guitar sure has a nice tone uh?

  • @Jangalene1

Indeed, nice tone, best I've heard out of a strat haha :P

  • What did i just watch? Mind is melted! great work man

  • 70,000th

  • Bravo! it is so damn hard to play fast and so acurate with clean tones!

    really this blew my mind!

  • really diggin the watch and playing Mr. Malmsteen!

  • Yngwie Malmsteen :)

  • Congratulations! Great work, great playing :)

    Keep working a new stuff!

  • @saYonaRaZD Thanks buddy!

  • yngwie puto malmsteen

  • Congrats man! Piezo pickups, good stuff, specially when combined with regular pups. See Alex Lifeson's Les Paul Axcess, maybe you can try something like that for your next one :-)

  • Nice watch Yngwie

  • this is beautifull... im thinking of doing this to, its so malmsteen

  • Awesome.

    Now turn on the distortion!

  • -___- .............

  • For everybody that think it's imposible..it is posible and also it's easy.It uses a piezo pickup sticked to the sustain block of the tremolo. The same piezo that electroacustic guitars use

  • lol fender actually sell these, Ygnwie Malmsteen has one

  • I was going to say that was impossible, since nylon isnt going to do anything for pickups... this is just weird...

  • That sounds really awesome, should take off if it was available to buy!?

  • Would it work to put nylonstrings on any kind of elctric guitar?

    Really nice playing btw!

  • @mamababsi nope. Electric guitar pickups use the metal in guitar strings to make sound. Nylon strings do not contain metal. There are other pickups out there that work with nylon strings. He probably has a piezo pickup under the pickguard. there are other options tho-look at Godin classical guitars.

  • That is AWSOME! I want one. I guess I should say I want to build one too.

  • sounds like Yngwie :)

  • как снимаеться звук? это нейлон?? сыграл АХУЕННО!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • and now to kick in some DISTORTION :D

  • wow! this sounds amazing! I want one! :D

  • Sounds great

  • Malmsteen's dream...

  • DO WANT ! I had this idea some time ago but thought it was stupid :D

  • Have you tried this through the AURA 16? could you give it a whirl and post the results. Great demos.

  • How did you learn to play like that?

  • Very cool.

  • Impressive. Very nice sounding thing.

  • malmsteen style xD

  • pieco

  • How does the trem arm respond with the nylons? I'd imagine it sends the whole thing out of tune at the slightest provocation.

  • I was watching tv while i pressed the play button and i thought it was Malmsteen playing!!!

    Keep it up bro!!!!

  • Very cool man

  • i love you...

  • @ItsJustVivi ...ok! thanks... do I know you? :)

  • What did you press on the volume button? What did it do?

  • @z3r0sh1ft Yeah, it changed the tone a little bit. Like an EQ.

  • Master luthiers everywhere are rolling over in their graves. You are like kardatian of guitar. sure it looks good, but no one takes you seriously.

  • idk i think i sensed a little "baby im gonna leave you" at the end there

  • this is genius!!! OMG add to fav...

  • @Samprayer2 Thanks buddy!

  • Are those scalloped frets?

  • @SuperIthinknot Yep :)

  • you should hollow out the body some how, that would be awesome

  • @Stratmater That's a cool idea. Thanks!

  • nice build & playing~!

you gonna put the MIDI option on as well?

  • No Pickups oe what!? It sounds great!

  • u r using malmsteen solos :D

  • Where's the pick ups!

What kind of sorcery is this!?

  • @dkerdkerdker They're in the saddles. No sorcery :)

  • @dkerdkerdker The magic of piezoelectric!

  • @dkerdkerdker In this guitars, the pickup is located at the whammy.

  • @dkerdkerdker think its at the bridge...

  • Comment removed

  • @dkerdkerdker Piezo pickups. :)

  • @dkerdkerdker in the bridge

  • Awsome job and there is no doubt you know what the time is....

  • @groundloop07 time... to rock? :)

  • @lavendell Apparently! Cant help but think how awesome this guitar would have been for Eugene Martone ( Ralph Macchio's character ) in the 1987 movie "Crossroads". Rock On!!!

  • would it resonate longer like with a fernandes sustainer kit

or any suggestions to expand sustain of those nylon strings to hold the sound while vibrato playing as an elc guitar...sounds really sufficent but:) you know it fades quicker than a real classical guitar i guess...

  • @junkscar That's a great idea, thanks. I must try it :)

  • @junkscar I don't think Fernandes sustainer would improve the sustain. As far as I know it works on a conventional pickup basis - all those magnets and resonating metal strings stuff. I can't see how magnets could help resonate the nylon strings :) I would go with a compressor of some kind.

  • very nice! good work!

  • If the intonation is only due to it sounding a bit unusual you may want to keep it as it gives the rig its own distinct sound.

  • also, I am guessing if you go to higher tension strings it will change the ambient sound tremendously, which may or may not be the thing you want. The sound you have now is surprisingly smooth and mellow with richer than expected lows and muted, but articulate, highs.

  • Sounds great!

  • nice! one question, have you ever tried locking tuners with the nylon strings? thinking of putting them on my nylon electric, cant' see what you got on this one. i think i 'd make sense since nylon strings take so long to stay in tune.

    again, nice guitar and playing.

  • Comment removed

  • Sounds great already - kudos!

  • so the strings arent really nylon??

  • God, this sounds great!

  • Bravo! Very impressive playing! haha and to top it off its all custom made, the way i like to hear it :] keep em comming! (as in the guitars!)

  • no pickups?

  • Maybe lower the action and try an Eb tuning and see if that takes out some of the problems. Also, do you think filing the frets down would help? Nice job.

  • Very nice! neoclassical style and great tone!
