Anyways, looks to me like Nintendo's vibe is strong with this one. Super Paper Mario was EXCELLENT, if not up there with Brawl for me, and now we get another 2D Plat Former, I think they're getting the message slowly.
i downloaded the jap version of this game and ran it through wii brickblocker and regionfrii, it worked fine until when i was about to choose a save file, when i clicked on one of them the screen went black and some japanese writing appeared. i guess its an error message.
Kids today are so spoiled. 2D games are fantastic, and the production values of this one look like they're through the roof. The SMW2: Yoshi's Island-style vehicles are especially exciting.
And no, this isn't Wii Ware; it's a full-fledged game.
Once again, Nintendo makes another quality game. And to top it all off? They have went back to their old two-dimensional roots (for the time being, I assume.). Just because a 2D game is a 2D game doesn't mean it's bad. Look how well Super Mario Bros. 3 did way back then!
From the footage so far, this game is a definate pile of win. Another point for the big N.

estoybienmamado, you can't judge a book (or in this game) by it's cover, this trailer's just a cover for the actual game, try a demo of it yourself (at a game store once it comes out) or read a couple reviews of the game before you judge whether or not it's worth your time. Also, this game (though Nintendo may be pushing it by selling it for $50, I'd say they should sell it for $30-40) looks to be pretty fun thus far.
I'm a die-hard Nintendo fan, and also a very dedicated gamer, so I say this in a positive light: This game actually has a lot of Sonic the Hedgehog style characteristics. It's like combining the best of Nintendo's 2D and the classic Sonic The Hedgehog Genesis games! Great idea!
People can complain and insult the idea of making a present-day 2D platformer if they want. People who don't see the value of improving 2D games probably aren't even old enough to appreciate Nintendo's early development.

Once again, Nintendo makes another quality game. And to top it all off? They have went back to their old two-dimensional roots (for the time being, I assume.). Just because a 2D game is a 2D game doesn't mean it's bad. Look how well Super Mario Bros. 3 did way back then!
From the footage so far, this game is a definate pile of win. Another point for the big N.

nintendo is still climbing up and beyond the other two, and there are plenty of quality games, just cause it looks slightly less graphical doesnt mean its cheap, but even if it was, there fun, so who cares?

even though the people who posted are just angry less than intelligent fanboys, and you do make some sense, i doubt this will be 50 dollars, 30 to 40 at best.
But if it is fun, i think id pay the money for it my friend, nintendo is breaking barriers, sure graphics are nice, but gameplay what really matters, why do you think DS was such a success? look at the world ends with you on DS, snes graphics at best, but its on par with crisis core in terms of gameplay (same rev scores in most places)

CheapER to make, sure. But a game isn't just about how it looks... There gameplay, stoyrline, and all the other tricks and gadgets and attributes in a game that make it worth playing. Any good 2D game is NOT easy to make. A good, well-rounded 2D game could be far superior to a 3D game -- Like Super Mario Bros, and MegaMan, versus PacMan Fever, which puts PacMan's name to shame.

There could be AWESOME NEW 2D games, and terrible NEW 3D games.

look at killzone 1, looked great, had a lot of work put into it, but it was a rip-off, same with most psp games since they are mostly ports, work=/= worth your money, how fun it is=worth your money.
Dont give your opinion if this game is worth your money before its even out, or even trying it.

estoybienmamado, you can't judge a book (or in this game) by it's cover, this trailer's just a cover for the actual game, try a demo of it yourself (at a game store once it comes out) or read a couple reviews of the game before you judge whether or not it's worth your time. Also, this game (though Nintendo may be pushing it by selling it for $50, I'd say they should sell it for $30-40) looks to be pretty fun thus far.

I'm a die-hard Nintendo fan, and also a very dedicated gamer, so I say this in a positive light: This game actually has a lot of Sonic the Hedgehog style characteristics. It's like combining the best of Nintendo's 2D and the classic Sonic The Hedgehog Genesis games! Great idea!
People can complain and insult the idea of making a present-day 2D platformer if they want. People who don't see the value of improving 2D games probably aren't even old enough to appreciate Nintendo's early development.
