It amazes me that Justin eventually leaves Brian for Ethan. Brian showed Justin that he loved him everyday...Justin needed to hear it, and eventually he figures it out. I think Brian fell in love with Justin that first night they ate dinner together...The way Brian looked at Justin across the table. Just my humble opinion.

Yes, he suffered a major trauma after the bashing. He was afraid of crowds, had nightmares every night, had extreme mood swings, and he flinched whenever anybody touched him, even Brian at first. But Brian helped him through all that, and he got better eventually. (We soon learn that he still had PTSD in season 4 though.)
