I dont want to sound uninformed, but I'm researching the Zune vs. the Ipod...my primary use will be for loading Youtube videos...has anyone tried it on the Zune?

I understand that I need Youtube downloaders and video converters, but I was curious if anyone uses it for Youtube videos.

Again, sorry, I'm not familiar with it's capapbilites...the last MP3 player i've owned was a Creative Zen VPlus...not really made for videos.

Get an ipod touch. You can view youtube videos like u would on a computer (provided ur in a hotspot). Also, for whatever purpose ur getting an mp3 player, get anything but the zune. Trust me, i tried the ipod and the zune and ipods are faaar more user friendly and stylish. I have had anger issues because of the friggin zune and i havent syched it with my computer for over 7 months now because i dont want to use that crappy software. Get anything but the zune. I am getting an ipod touch soon

Yhanks for the advice...but i actually found a better alternative for viewing videos than both the Zune and the Ipod. While they all can hold a good amount of videos, they kill the battery in less than 4 hours...So I looked for something that would run video longer and came up with a great solution.

My Nintendo DS!

It allows as much space as I can fit on a flashcart and the average time beforeneeding to charge the battery is about 15-17 hours vs 4-5 with both MP3 players.

What the fuck?? i wipe my ass with 8gb, anyways the only two reasons that would make me go to a ipod, is web browser and touch screen. touch screen is just a gimmick, just like wii and the motion sensing, and the web browser is terribly slow, plus not many places where you can get wifi, except your house, but if ur at yor house why not just use a computer??

I can say so far, I like the fact that the new Zune has the option to turn off the touch pad and just use it as a push pad - for those of us with greasy fingers.

The new addition of podcasts on the Zune and the completely revamped Zune Marketplace has made me a little less leary about using proprietary software, though not by much. The software has become more fluid and less taxing on memory.

um, zune downloads its music through the zune marketplace which is cool, it costs about a dollar to buy a song each, or u can use a subscribtion to download all u want for 15 bucks a month..and as for ur question for how to get free music for the zune...well theres always limewire

I just got a this Zune 80gb today. Can't wait to mess around with it. I had no idea you could use your M$ points from xbox live to pay for songs for it. That is a neat feature, and that is what ultimately drew me to the Zune. What made me choose the 80gb was the longer battery life, the sleeker design, the better interface, and the massive storage. Yeah they had the original 30gb zune in stores for 80 bucks today, but I just really wanted my first MP3 player to be a really good one.
