Note that you don't have to get any artifacts or do any things that aren't necessary to get the items the level needs for you to get that music item, used to open the door. (Hope that made sense for you).

There are Croft Manor time trial videos on YouTube as well, maybe you can learn from those =).

what makes it hard is that lara's house is full of long corridors, like the one that leads to the garden..you have to go thru 2 halls before you get there..considering thats its the most important place in the manor level... I finished it's time triial with just a minute left,,, sigh
