  • Looks like CineColor. The red/orange emulsion was on one side of the film and the blue/green on the other. It was hard to focus but gave surprisingly good color, not perfect but good. Splicing broken film was a task. Film cement wouldn't stick to the emulsion so both sides of the film had to be cleaned down to the film base before a splice would hold.

  • Great to watch although Lee herself wasn't happy with the number. She felt that the chorus was too close, they swallowed her routine up, and I see what she means.

  • When I look at films from 1930, there's always a scene, movie, or cartoon about Hell. Why?...

  • This pre-code film clip would be too daring to be made in Hollywood today!

  • Show biz ain't what it was . . . pretty dull these days.

  • Love the transition to technicolor! The early 1930s had some brilliant pre-code musical antics.

  • Whoa-oh!

  • It's a real shame that this isn't availiable in better quality..

  • 1:40 to 1:50 That looks like a lot of bare skin!

  • I haven't seen this in years. WOW! Thank you so much!

  • Is there a way to find part 1?>

  • Hollywood will never produce anything so splendid as this again, spectacular costumes and fanciful set designs, only the stage still attempts these feats but their budgets are not as flamboyant. I'm going to start spending more time digging out old films now, I can't even remember the last good film I saw that was mainstream anyway. Our current hugh celebrities are mostly idiots anyway, and get paid far too much for such poor quality performances.

  • I totally agree! Entertainment today is totally boring compared to the splendor of the 20's or 30's.

  • theses musicals are alot better than those high school musical crap they show on disney channle

  • LOL That's why I love these early talkie musicals. You never know what to expect. One minute it's comedy, the next it is romance, the next a song, or a surreal dance number like this. :)

  • Great - have always loved this clip

    Thanks

    G

  • Amazing! This is from "The Cuckoos" Bert Wheeler & Robert Woolsey's 2nd film. And one of the first features with 2-strip Technicolor segments.

  • So great to see this brilliant clip back, thank you!

  • Ha! One of my favorites. LOL

  • Oh, one of my favories!!! SO glad to see it back!!!

  • You're welcome! Enjoy!
