@ercchrstpher, that's an interesting take - repentance...my friend and I were just discussing the meaning before I read your comment, we posited that it's about defying construct and rules. "we must memorize nine numbers/and deny we have a soul," I've always felt strongly that it speaks to going along with what we're supposed to do; the death celebration -- rather than panic or fear -- defies how we're "supposed to" react to our inevitable deaths. this song is important.

I think this song is about how death is really a new beginning. I think that it's saying the only way for us to live is to die. Suicide is the most natural thing we can do. If we do it selfishly we kill ourselves. If we do it unselfishly, we give our lives to God.
