A whale calf loses the will to live and attempts suicide by beaching herself (like how the orca committed suicide by depriving itself of oxygen in the 1977 film "Orca"), pretty powerful for a children's feature.

CONTINUITY ERROR: The live-action footage depicts Tonga as a humpback calf, but in animation doesn't resemble one, looking more along the lines of the sperm variety.

very true, that has confused me, because I ordered the movie a few months ago and when I saw the live whales and tonga, I realize the live whales were humpback whales and the tonga the animated whale is a sperm whale.
