The scene when tonga tells what happned to her family is sad.It makes me think how whales are suffering to this day.We should be glad that greenpeace and the sea shepard conversation society are fighting to protect them.
A whale calf loses the will to live and attempts suicide by beaching herself (like how the orca committed suicide by depriving itself of oxygen in the 1977 film "Orca"), pretty powerful for a children's feature.
CONTINUITY ERROR: The live-action footage depicts Tonga as a humpback calf, but in animation doesn't resemble one, looking more along the lines of the sperm variety.
very true, that has confused me, because I ordered the movie a few months ago and when I saw the live whales and tonga, I realize the live whales were humpback whales and the tonga the animated whale is a sperm whale.
lol the boys voices remind me of shmorky

if tonga is a sperm whale or pilot whale then why does she flashback to humpback whales?
Superpepsiman20 1 year ago

Tonga's mother and father were humpback whales?
I don't know what Tonga's species is; but it certainly isn't humpback.
shenloken2 1 year ago
@shenloken2 probably because humpback whales are easier to film.
