@ravi48819 Well mainly federer's wrist is incredible. He has both insane strength and flexibility and impeccable timing with his wrist motion on every stroke (which is why he can get so much spin with a relatively conservative forehand grip). On the serve, having your feet close together helps push your body into your serve and it adds power, but it's a lot harder to have control or disguise where you're serving to. Federer's wrist can give him enough power to use the platform stance instead.
Murray's serve is more like agassi if anything... I was reading that he changed everything about his serve just about the beginning of his pro career.
@alleverythingpro his right leg kicks back in order to balance his upper body. It's textbook landing. And I don't know what you mean by angle, his right leg comes in front because that's the natural next step. Do you play tennis?
wow most tennis players have variation in their servers, most pro's anyway, but it looks like murray imitated fedderers server almost exactly including foot movement and racket swing... damn who needs originality when you can take the best and make it your own lol, at least the way I see it
NIce video! I had a courtside seat with the baseline view a few years ago and watched Richard Kraichek play a match and I could not believe how far into the court his serve toss was! His serve was at least four or five feet into the court at contact. The power of his serve was amazing! Love your slo-mo videos!
What is the significance of the pinpoint stance vs. the platform stance (such as Federer)?
If Federer switched to pinpoint stance, what else would he need to change in his service motion?

Last time I checked Federer's right foot didn't come up like Murray's does? So how can he possibly have imitated his foot movement?
maxzutube 2 years ago 4
my bad on foot movement, not completely the same, but as far as the swing goes, its pretty much the same

you know nothing about mechanincs in a serve if you think murrays and federers serve are exactly alike. theyre not that much alike at all.
