Toowoomba is in QLD, about an hour and a half west of Brisbane. I watch Rugby on occasion(I'm an American football player and fan). The hits are not harder than what you see in the NFL or in collegefootball.

The difference is in the lack of pads.

rugby is cool! but after my opinion football is better! helmets let you hit other players harder! its not possible to play football without helmets or pads!!! when football was invented they also didnt wear pads and helmets! but football is an other game and some people died.... so they had to wear helmets and pads to avoid injuries...

It is not true that the athletes are better. They are just more specialised. A football player would struggle to play rugby because of the need to be an "all rounder". You don't need to be good with the ball if you are a linebacker, but you do if you are a prop/hooker.

Rugby and American Football are COMPLETELY different sports, I play rugby professionally in RL but I'd love to play football, the only reason they wear pads is because the whole of the body is used as a fucking weapon, and not wearing them could lead to some horrendous injuries, rugby players need to last 80 minutes and the tackles are much more about technique and stopping the man, each player has to make about thirty tackles a match in rugby
