  • Hey, I have a scene in 3ds max of a car, but the method did not help me much. Do you think this works only for simple scenes?

Your scene looked quite complicated to me though...

  • THhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaank you from 8 hrs render time its now 1 hour not bad though

  • thanks. it helps.

  • what is this tutorial... i want to learn the lightining effect and u didn't even toched to it....

  • hi this is bakkiya, what i need a information about the computer configuration detail to have average fast rendering for 3ds max rendering in vray, any one in this world to reply my question so that i will upgrade my computer

  • how long would this take on 1 gb ram and 4ghz?

  • Hi WestDrake

Can you create animation with vray?

Maybe can you will create tutorial with Rendering a walk-through animation?

We would be gratefull for you so much.

  • hello every1 ,i have 3dmax 2011 & i want to download the vray ,

my friend gave me vray 2009 ... so my question is : is it ok to download it together or i should download 3dmax 2009 or it doesnt matter the vray version ??

    please help and thanks

  • any clue why my render would take 10 hours, then when i open the AVI it only contains half the length of all the rendering it did cutting off my scene. even though i saw it render everything after the cutoff........ response asap would be greatly appreciated...

  • you say uhh alot :)

  • tHE OLD YOUTUBE, MISS YOU..

  • *: ohh! thank u very much

  • I'm sorry. I apreciate your effort but this is a very bad tutorial.

  • and what settings do you used xD

  • OK you didn't show us anything. thanx for nothing

  • 3. Select the highest palette on “Tool Palettes”

    4. Right-click on the “Tool Palettes” title bar and select “New Palette”

    5. Right-click on the new palette tab and ”Move Down” to the bottom

    Fatal error occurred

  • hi, you post a good tutorial it's a big help for me and the others as well, but i encounterred some problem during the rendering time and tere are the error below.

Problem moving a new palette < This becomes your problem title

    1. Open any drawing file

    2. Select “My Workspace” from the Workspaces toolbar

  • ok, so i understand, ruski here says theres no way to render fast AND good quality, get a nice nvidia card, sli or quadro, i7 quadcore, arion is nice and it uses both cpu and gpu for realtime photos render.

  • from 2009 till now, i still cant get vray for 3d max. im using 3d max 2010 and usually use mental ray for rendering. its not superb as the vray. wish somebody could help me to get the vray for me. TQVM.

  • That doesn't work!! I use 3d max 2010 on my Intel E7500, ati radeon 4810 and 4gm of ddr ram and still takes 30 minutes to render. I did all you explain in this video but not working!! What else should i try?

  • @milutinmrkonjic

    works fine for me :)

  • @milutinmrkonjic Try this, at global switches, uncheck displacement.

  • @milutinmrkonjic haha... mrkonjiću ništa ne ide od ruke :)

  • @milutinmrkonjic its cos you got a cracked version

  • @milutinmrkonjic Works for me 2 .... THANK U WD :)

  • @milutinmrkonjic It depends a lot on the scene. If you are using more objects and a lot of subdivisions it can increse the rendertimes enormously...Try testing the scene without any subdivisions at all and see if it renders faster :)

  • This is superb! Thanks for sharing. :)

  • This video has finally solved all of my vray rendering problems! Thanks!!!

  • thanks a lot for this tutorial

  • darn you're good dude. kudos!

  • Hi! i Have a question.Does the fact that,i have a 3ds Max 2010 sp2 running on my system and i have installed a Vray 1.5 sp3 on it,affect the renderspeed of vray?? Thnx

  • @arkitekti90, the 3DS Max 2010 engine is slightly faster than the 2009 engine. I havent tested it out but I think it would be slightly faster. But keep in mind that 3DS Max 2010 is more heavier program than 3DS Max 2009.

  • @WestDrake I agree and confirm that 3DS Max 2009 had a "slower" engine than the 2010 version. I tested both on the same machine (Core2 Extreme 3Ghz 8Gb DDR3 GeForce 8800GT), using the same scene, although I didn't use VRay for rendering, I noticed that it took up to 15-20 seconds less to give back the final image... BTW I used Mental Ray with Final Gather and Caustics activated. Hope it helps! bye

  • how many RAM and Video Ram you have?

  • Love the accent. Thanks for the tutorial. :)

  • thank you westdrake thankz a lot..

    waaaaa...i can do vray...hahahhahahha
