Water finds its own level.So as long as the tops of the aquariums are about the same, all should be well.On the larger aquarium I have an overflow tube that runs through the base of the aquarium.The water is circulated from the sump via the small aquarium and returns via the large aquarium.If you use the small tank as a refuge m, you may have to take extra precautions for predatory fish.I forgot my catfish was slim enough to pass through the net I placed to allow small fish through.
Does the water level in the smaller aquarium naturally want to be higher than in the larger? I'm trying to make a refugium this way between a bigger aquarium and a smaller planted tank, and am wondering if I need to raise the smaller aquarium (it's slightly lower than the bigger one currently). Awesome vid btw, thumbs ^ :)
Unfortunately many people consider fish an animated ornament.I have even heard the argument that as fish are "cold-blooded" they are incapable of mammalian compassion and so do not warrant it from their human keepers.
But there are obviously people who know well what biological requirements are needed in order to keep the fish healthy but would hesitate to conjecture that a pet fish might be capable of having fun!
No question the fish appear to enjoy their venture from one aquarium to another.
I have that same swordtail but it won't breed with my other ones but probably because they are different type
