my father is colombian jamaican and my mother is italian irish that makes me all those nationalities and no you don't have to be black black to be jamaican
Brilliant show. It has such wonderful emotional payoff in the end. It's only now that I see it again after becoming more of a fiction writer that I really appreciate his plotting and planning. The man knows how to tell a story and keep a show moving. He's one of my favorites ever and has been so since I first saw Spic-O-Rama.
lol i love john..part puerto rican like me..i rememeber watching this back in May 02'..the part about his grandpa touched me cause 7 months later my grandpa died from his second stroke..i still miss him..i can understand many things he was saying..most of my family is the same way. i just watched the whole thing again for the 1st time in almost 8 yrs. still funny ass shit.
Sorry that u have colombian pride, but the truth is he is part puerto rican. It doesnt change the world or any of that, but he's part puerto rican..... AND he grew up around my neighborhood!
wow, that ending was touching. i think the ending to freak was more touching (a little), but im not sure if it was real since the credits said the characters were overexxagerated :/
read his book 'Pimps, Hos, Playa Haters, and all the rest of my Hollywood friends" He says that every character was based on members of his family or people he grew up around. Just tweaked a lil so they don't get offended!
@DesperatelyKind he's BOTH Puerto Rican and Colombian. It's not like he can only be one or the other. His dad is Puerto Rican and his mom is Colombian.
he might be colombian but he grew up in a puertorican scene you can see that on how he speaks i know cause i am colombian but anyways what matters is that he iss LATINOOO!!!

@DesperatelyKind Yeah, he is. He's Colombian/Boricua (Puerto Rican). Odd mix, but I still accept him as one of the greatest New Yorkers ever.
