Ok, i have a problem, my ps3 gets super hot if i play it for 1 hour. Someone said to get more ventelation, but if i open windows and stuff, it gets even more humid, and hot, can some1 help?
@hioeo just buy a little small fan and keep pointed where the air flows into the ps3 and there you go my ps3 hasn't even gone above 86*F so i'm doing good
u should never have and kind of fan blowin onto or into and electrionc device all fans are 4 evactauting heat if you have it blowing on it it wont beable to do that like it should just making your problem worse what i would do if ur having a heating issue and dont have a warrenty is to mod the case an put some computer fans in there to hlp evacuate the heat or just put some holes in the case 2 help with air flow one of those will work if its a heat sink issue dont forget the thermal pate

that exact fault has happened to me it crashed 8 times in one day then went completly unresponsive even the controller and the only thing that made it do anything was the disc eject button which only made a noise. i have lost nearly all the save data on the system apart from a few which i managed to save whilst it was dieing. also i think this must be quite a rare fault because this is the only other infomation i have got on this particular fault :(
i dunno what you've done to your system but if you jail broke it you've most likely ruined it cuz i have a 120 gb and it's never acted up on me maybe the occassional game freeze up but nothing to major if u did'nt jail break it then i dunno what you've done to it or you might have overheated and probly fried the motherboard in it other than that i dunno that might be that u've ruined it's motherboard by letting it over heat cause the powers on but noones home that looks like a dead motherboard..
What and ugly spot for that tv! Hold the power button down until the light goes from red to green then red again. Then do it again until you see a rest to factory settings option on the screen. It will beep once from red to green. Then it will beep twice quickly. Release after it beeps twice then reset the system.

Strange, I had a PSP which failed in the same sort of way. It worked fine and then one time I turned it on, it showed the boot intro then to a yellow xmb but no icons or anything it just didn't do anything. It did that every time I turned it on since then, so I used a hacked PSP battery and reflashed it.
The PS3 messes up with HDMI all the time. It's really easy to think your system's bricked; just boot into diagnostics mode using a SCART cable and it's easy to fix it from there.

Yeah, it has WAAAY LESS of hard drive space than a slim one. Cuz my fat PS3 has 500GB and the slim has 250GB so my fat PS3 obviously has less space than the slim.

Get it replaced and play happily for about 4 months, happens again tonight after 10 month old daughter managed to turn it on and ran for 5 hours. This fix is simple. unplug it. hold the power button then plug it in it will beep 3 times then take you to a diagnostic screen. you can then change resolution settings there.
At the end of the day, xbox360 isn't pushing out any power at all, the mere fact that its home screen is merged with gameplay all running same time means its never really that HD, its just if you have a HD tv that actually supports 1080p or you have a transcoder/upscaler it will work wonders for the xbox and would seem like its kicking out power with graphics, the XMB on the ps3 actually listens to the change of display settings whereas xbox always looks the same and heats by quality

But i did what everyone does when nothing else works, i just hit the ps3 on the top and twice on the bottom and it restarted now it works fine lol. ( i took it back to the shop anyway and they checked it out and i got a brand new one)

If you didn't know, the game informer magazine was inaccurate because they only did surveys to only a handful of people, not actually testing the jasper unit and they were counting the 360's whole life span (2005-2009) instead of the jasper unit's life alone, and also ps3 fanboyz or former 360 owners would say on the survey that their 360 failed
How many accounts have we all heard from friends, family, even strangers on youtube, gaming sites or whatever getting a RROD. Its probably closer to 97% failure rate. Why would they extend the warranty to 3 years if it wasn't so high? Standard electric warranties are usually 12 -18 months.

I had an xbox360 & whenever i played it i had to constantly keep watch over it incase it broke (again)which it did so i got a ps3 slim and its fucking great,i can play all day and no probs so ide say that this is a rarity as most people i know love their ps3,XBOX SUCKS COCK!

This fix is simple. unplug it. hold the power button then plug it in it will beep 3 times then take you to a diagnostic screen. you can then change resolution settings there.

At the end of the day, xbox360 isn't pushing out any power at all, the mere fact that its home screen is merged with gameplay all running same time means its never really that HD, its just if you have a HD tv that actually supports 1080p or you have a transcoder/upscaler it will work wonders for the xbox and would seem like its kicking out power with graphics, the XMB on the ps3 actually listens to the change of display settings whereas xbox always looks the same and heats by quality

yeh dude you're not the only one this stupid shitty error happened to me. But i did what everyone does when nothing else works, i just hit the ps3 on the top and twice on the bottom and it restarted now it works fine lol. ( i took it back to the shop anyway and they checked it out and i got a brand new one)

You can put the signal settings on auto so it will pick up whatever cord u put in in the settings bar under display settings dont poo ur pants lol

If you didn't know, the game informer magazine was inaccurate because they only did surveys to only a handful of people, not actually testing the jasper unit and they were counting the 360's whole life span (2005-2009) instead of the jasper unit's life alone, and also ps3 fanboyz or former 360 owners would say on the survey that their 360 failed

How many accounts have we all heard from friends, family, even strangers on youtube, gaming sites or whatever getting a RROD. Its probably closer to 97% failure rate. Why would they extend the warranty to 3 years if it wasn't so high? Standard electric warranties are usually 12 -18 months.

unpluge the HDMI cable and plug in the original cable then u wuld be able to see it then if u doo see it go to display setting then change it to HDMI!!!!!!
