I found out it WAS the serpentine belt...AND The idler pulley that screwed me...AND The tensioner all at once..after the tensioner fell off while i was driving and the Idler pulley was absolutely torn to shreds and my belt dragged on the floor...i decided to get my car towed and i changed everything...problem solved...
I had the same problem with mine. Take the serpentine belt off and spin each pulley. If one grinds clicks or has a lot of play thats the one with the bad bearing and you can buy any pulley seperately. Mine was the tensioner pulley. good luck!
hehe yeah common problem with those cars it seems. The one on my 96 RS had to be changed, made the same noise.
