Dude good videos but you should show how to program the midi etc. you spend most of the lesson talking about putting this wire here or there. It would be better if you just showed us how the notes or beats should go. You do a good job but ur vids are a bit like taking a driving lesson and the teacher showing you his car for half n hour

And one more thing, whenever I hit play on the note sequencer, my Redrum starts playing too so I have the notes playing layered on eachother. Why the fuck does it do that?

@alexkid1 for redrum the only way i figured out is actually to create the beat in sequencer, next to the combinator. Just like you create melodies and stuff.

Can someone help me please?! After i create a beat in redrum in combinator, and click "copy pattern to track", in the sequencer, instead of putting the beat next to combinator, it creates another redrum and puts the beat next to it. So its like i have a combinator in the sequencer for nothing. It pisses me off, i want to cry :'(

I like probably hundreds of others downloaded Reason 5 from a torrent site, and those who have will know the programme is all you get and no manual or anything on how to use it and if it wasn't for these tutorials i don't think i would of ever bothered with the programme. Out of all the tutorials on youtube these boyinaband ones are by far the best there is, the video is nice and clear instead of some divvy sat in front of a comp with a dodgy cam and everything is explained clearly..

When i copy the patern to the track i'll get a extra redrum instead of the notes in the combinator...

@staeske me too but you can delete one of those by right clicking on it and selectcing "delete tracks". this will delete the extra note lane without deleting the device. i hope that was helpful :)

when connect the gate out 1 with the gate in 2 (in ReDrum Drum comp.) the kicks are not playing at the same time...can anyone tell me why :D ??? thank you and btw i'm using the version 5 !

@scripcatudor first off, it shouldn't matter which version of reason you are using. second, load your samples into a sample editor. if you are using biab trance kicks, some of them don't have the same start point, so you either need to crop them in a program such as audacity (or with using kong's built in nn sampler which allows you to edit samples from there) or just adjust the start time in redrum. simple, relly

this is really frustrating, why is it that when I "copy pattern to track" it creates a whole new redrum lane in the sequencer instead of adding it to the "beat" combinator lane?

@writofmandamus mine does the same - just drag the notes up to the combinator lane if it bothers you that much then delete the redrum lane

you installed some devices to make this track ..... but what those devices do, and why you included them, is not cleared. It would be nice to know WHY you used whatever device you load. Otherwise, it is very useful tutorial.

U can use Rewire tool to run Reason under FL. That can add VST synts or fx to your track, as Reason has no VST support

reason is like "real hardware" with wires and stuff=) as i know daniel kandi uses only reason to produce his tracks. and as for me it sounds better then FL and offers u much more audio routing. u better try it with ableton - this is realy awesome=)

no, u can't load any 3rd party products in Reason. but it can run as slave application in many sequencers and trackers such as FL, Cubase, Ableton etc. for example, u can use FL as rewire master and Reason as slave. FL, as u know, can load 3rd party vst or dx. just google for more info.
