How does the auto hold up with that power? I'm interested in doing a tune like this and I have to keep it auto, I already have a twin turbo manual car I need this for cruising and long drives, but I am concerned about how the auto holds up with 400+hp.

i'm trying to figure out the maximum reliable horsepower you can get from a boosted 540i. i want to see if it's worth supercharging my 540i or just buy an E39 M5.

I see. I was in the same boat years ago. The E39 M5 is very nice, but all I could think about was how expensive it would be to if that twenty thousand dollar engine had issues. After reading message boards for over a year I decided on the 540i. I came across jimmy540i dot com and he had a lot of great info, dyno sheets and comparisons I couldn't find anyplace else. Supercharger installed over 26,000 miles ago. The problem is not when these make noise at idle, it's when they do off idle.

This thing would pull on any stock or lightly modified E39 M5! Maybe you should think about the smaller pulley with special dinan software which increases boost to 9.5 psi. Than it's one of the fastest E39 5 series around.

You said it! This thing would pull any stock or lightly modified E39 M5! I can't get enough of this video. I turn the volume up and listen to that whistle from the supercharger. Then he steps on the throttle and it sounds so mean. I was on the fence about getting a 540i but you helped me make up my mind. This is the nicest and fastest 540i I've ever seen. The other videos are amazing too. Keep up the good work!
