@12389h Many of Deals Gap's turns are so tight they make a car push that doesn't normally push. They also make most cars (mine) fall out of the power in the gap b/t 1st & 2nd gears. It really shows not how slow Killboy or an Evo is, but how fast that particular R6 can run the Gap. It is geared down, has real soft tires plus a talented rider who can drag his elbow 3' from a cliff. I have seen him. Very fast. No shame if you can't outrun him. Fastest I've seen there, car or bike.
@12389h I understand where you're coming from. Unless you spend a lot of time in certain twisties, or a race track, you aren't gonna see many guys like these. You'd be surprised at how fast that car is really going. If you can get a "reading" on the lean angle... 45 degrees = 1g cornering.

The EVO driver was being relatively conservative. He definitely wasn't pushing it very hard. The EVO has an advantage in the corners due to the high lateral grip. But the R6 has a huge power to weight advantage in the straights. Looked like it would have been fun from either vehicle.

another great road is Arizona 89A, Arizona, USA. very curvy, more than this one but not a long. only about 10 miles. and it would be awesome to hold a drifting event on one of these roads.

To the rider: that was a very fine piece of work, top stuff. I think you have a particularly good front tyre on there, you seemed to get in very deep.

If you watch where the biker crosses the double yellows, its where he's prepping to go into a right hander, and if you know about riding, you know that he'd be looking well ahead of the Evo as well as watching it so that he knew there was nothing coming the other way. But otherwise, it's a great vid, the biker could have left the Evo if he was in front, the Evo was driven well, but not that smootly, however, could be driven faster in the right hands I reckon.
the driver in the EVO has respect for the road, and the safety of other drivers by not crossing the double yellow. I was driving on it yesterday, and the ass hole bikers always cross the line, idoits.
that r6 is just getting wound up. the bad sound quality makes it sound like its taching out. R6 rider is decent. Missed a few of the apexs in the beginning and definently could be pushing it harder. That R6 would smoke that Evo.
The R6 rider had pretty good throttle control & I think he did great in the curves. The evo was on the brakes a little too much. True about the revs - R6 tops out at 15,500 rpm and he wasn't there yet.
i own bolth an evo and an r6s bolth are alot of fun..a stock evo only needs a good set of tires to make a mountain run hard on a r6 i race auto cross and i dabble with my street bike on a track.. the rider in this video is good as well dumb but good.he gets down in the turns he knows his bike but i think the r6 would out run this evo in a strait..im guesing max hp on evo to be maybe 350 400...thats low 12s my car make 550 at the wheels and im just starting to keep up with r6s on the straits.
yep, this is how you eat the back of a car at 90+ mph. SHot the video the other way around where its the evo chasing the bike... if you know how to ride the evo will loose every time.
A stock sportscar will pull more Gs and go around a skidpad faster than a well-ridden stock sportbike. Bikes LOOK faster because they're smaller and more dynamic when they turn, but it's just an illusion.
Where bikes truly dominate over cars is acceleration. (stock for stock, exotic multi-million $ supercars excluded) On open tracks this is a great equalizer, but on a very tight road like the Dragon, there isn't as much time for that acceleration advantage to pay off.
Right...that is why nearly every track record is held by a car.
And you are also wrong to assume a car has to "straighten up" before accelerating...in fact it's quite the opposite. Especially an AWD car. That is the ONE area where I do have the advantage over the bikes, and everyone is amazed at how early I get on the gas in a turn.

Mostly just running the road a LOT. We've both done many trackdays on bikes, and DealsGapR6 starting racing WERA this year. (and is sucking up the 1st place trophies like the phenom that he is ;) I've never done a trackday with the car though.

yeah i live in robbinsville about 12 miles from the dragon so i have been on it ever since i was little i actually know the guy in that evo its killboy and trust me hes not giving all he has he can ride that ride in a bike or a car it doesnt matter thats the guys job lol the bike doesnt stand a chance killboy is mean on the dragon

That's gotta be Killboy (Darryl). I still remember trying to stay with him on his ZX6 on the Gap. Insane fast, and knows every inch of the Gap.

If you watch where the biker crosses the double yellows, its where he's prepping to go into a right hander, and if you know about riding, you know that he'd be looking well ahead of the Evo as well as watching it so that he knew there was nothing coming the other way. But otherwise, it's a great vid, the biker could have left the Evo if he was in front, the Evo was driven well, but not that smootly, however, could be driven faster in the right hands I reckon.

the driver in the EVO has respect for the road, and the safety of other drivers by not crossing the double yellow. I was driving on it yesterday, and the ass hole bikers always cross the line, idoits.

that r6 is just getting wound up. the bad sound quality makes it sound like its taching out. R6 rider is decent. Missed a few of the apexs in the beginning and definently could be pushing it harder. That R6 would smoke that Evo.

I noticed that the rider was hitting the limiter here and there too. Maybe he should have thought about upping a gear.

The R6 rider had pretty good throttle control & I think he did great in the curves. The evo was on the brakes a little too much. True about the revs - R6 tops out at 15,500 rpm and he wasn't there yet.

i own bolth an evo and an r6s bolth are alot of fun..a stock evo only needs a good set of tires to make a mountain run hard on a r6 i race auto cross and i dabble with my street bike on a track.. the rider in this video is good as well dumb but good.he gets down in the turns he knows his bike but i think the r6 would out run this evo in a strait..im guesing max hp on evo to be maybe 350 400...thats low 12s my car make 550 at the wheels and im just starting to keep up with r6s on the straits.

yep, this is how you eat the back of a car at 90+ mph. SHot the video the other way around where its the evo chasing the bike... if you know how to ride the evo will loose every time.

yes jeremy, however, bikes mainly outhandle STOCK cars. this evo isnt gonna keep up if its stock. and plus its all driver/rider skill level

A stock sportscar will pull more Gs and go around a skidpad faster than a well-ridden stock sportbike. Bikes LOOK faster because they're smaller and more dynamic when they turn, but it's just an illusion.
Where bikes truly dominate over cars is acceleration. (stock for stock, exotic multi-million $ supercars excluded) On open tracks this is a great equalizer, but on a very tight road like the Dragon, there isn't as much time for that acceleration advantage to pay off.

Right...that is why nearly every track record is held by a car.
And you are also wrong to assume a car has to "straighten up" before accelerating...in fact it's quite the opposite. Especially an AWD car. That is the ONE area where I do have the advantage over the bikes, and everyone is amazed at how early I get on the gas in a turn.

terrible driving in the car.But the motorcycle would eat that thing alive.Saw kevin Schwantz race a porsche GT3 and lose though so anything is possible.Of course it was a pure bred race car versus stock GSX-R750.

Practice and tracktime if possible. Take your time learning, but do anything over and over and you WILL get better at it eventually. ;)

Mostly just running the road a LOT. We've both done many trackdays on bikes, and DealsGapR6 starting racing WERA this year. (and is sucking up the 1st place trophies like the phenom that he is ;) I've never done a trackday with the car though.
