Now granted this was a submarine and there isn't much call for weapons other than a torpedo but still that's what we were using. SInce then, i have never seen a m-14. In the Marines we had M-16, and now in the army we have M-44's.

@youdevil6 - As a Marine, I have to say that Jarhead was a terrible movie about a whiny, punk-ass, non-hack of a Marine. I wouldn't trust Anthony Swofford to lead me out of a wet paper bag. Based on his book and the movie made from it, he's a crybaby punk who only thinks of himself and I wouldn't want him in my section. It's guys like Swofford who destroy the morale and good working order of a unit.
