@rhudstein All the surfaces, including the hand scraped column face, the table surface and all the painted parts were cleaned with fine steel wool and lots and lots of paraffin. Only the the satin chromed dials were cleaned with paraffin and an old toothbrush and rag!
Oh yes, apart from the horizontal overam. That was so bad I had to use a very fine grade of emery paper in a 18" long strip by about an inch wide, soaked it in paraffin, held each end, wrapped it around the bar and went back and forth all around until the worst was off, then I moved onto the wire wool. I was careful to only get the rust. Seemed to work ok.
hi could you tell me how you clean d up all the bear metal bits specially the dueled face without damaging it many thanks Paul
