hmmm... its been a while, but I'd have to say the nevic/spider thingy was my favourite as it had a bunch of fire power and could transform. As far as the best, I'd go hands down for the final one you get to pilot. Wish I knew the name, it's the one that was Wayne's father's V.S. and it kicked serious ass.

@Ramniir I am an absolute nerd... The name of the Nevec Spider VS is the "Cakti" (I may be wrong). I personally liked the Nevec standard VS, the "Granseed," especially in Lost Planet 2, where you get a cloaking device. Sadly, the armor got nerfed in LP2, but it's still one of my favorites.
