no, that's not a PSX. Use Google to find out what a PSX is. A few people make your mistake because the PS1's prototype was also referred to as a PSX, much as the Wii was called Revolution.

You can use any official psone disc to accomplish the sawp trick, but the system model has to be either the SCPH-100X or SCPH-3000 (read some of the labels in the back.)

He didn't show this, but you should always go into the menu and select CD player and stop the disc before you switch it with the back-up. That makes it safe for your motor and spindle assembly. Then when you have your back up in, you can simply press play and exit to the main menu, then start the game.

the gameshark itself is a Playstation one CD. you put it in and it'll bring you to a screen where you can put in gameshark codes and, also, run any burned game you wish rather than hunting around on amazon/ebay for a game.

If you want to put it in and have it boot up then no, it needs to be AN ORIGINAL. Because no matter how you burn a CD, it cannot and will not bypass the liscensing protection, you need to have an original Gameshark PSX CD, not a burned one.

However, if you only want the codes? Hell yeah, it should work.

Kidz, I have found that Daemon works best of all in WinXP. MOUNT the CD image, whatever it is. Then bring up any good CD copier program, choose the virtual drive as READ, the real drive as WRITE, do a direct copy-on-the-fly. Done. No need to burn slow, goes at 32x so the game burns in less than 4-minutes. All backups I have tried work with this method.

Does burn speed affect how well i runs, because I burned a copy of Breath of Fire 4 at 8x speed (i can't seem to get lower than that i pick 1x but while buring it says its going at rate of 8x) and it takes forever to load while going to towns and getting into battles, while on the ps2 it runs perfect and fast. COuld it be that my psx was in bad condition in the first place (and it was) or that I burned it at to high of a rate?

yeah what i do is i convert everything to clonecd and then burn it with that. clonecd's great its simple and concise. if you get an mdf/mds file mount it with alcohol and then make an image with clonecd. thats all.

I used the Alchohol program like you said, 120% I believe it was called, I can look now I deleted it. anyway I burned the cd, yes it was a CD-R. And I selected the slowest speed but I didnt see 4X so I had to do 8X. I selected "Playstation" and all but still nothing happens.

I got me a Gameshark 4.0 now and this trick will work in the PS2 and I have been playing a burnt copy of Castlevania:SOTN and a burnt disc of It Might Be NES and I love how the Gameshark stops and starts again after you put in your burnt disc when you hit the X button without having to hurry like the other swap tricks when the PS logo boots up which is rather unhealty for the spinner. It kicks ass!! 5 stars!!!!!

Sup Knife i took back the GS 4.0 and found at the same shop a Codebreaker for the PS1 it doesnt auto stop like GS4 so u have to go to the cd player stop the cd swap with backup, select cheats if you like, and load. Plus i found that 2x memory card for $5 its not bad just order from that store a PS-Xchange v2 and a 24M Mega Memory Card.
