I love this. My dad left when I was 3 weeks or so... but I have always had my great grandpa there as a replacement. He's acted like a dad and I even call him dad. The sad thing is I don't know how long he'll still be in my life.... He said when his dad died he didn't cry because his dad was in pain from lung cancer and he knew his dad was in a better place and not suffering anymore. I'm selfish and will cry when he goes, but deep down I will know he is no longer suffering and in a better place

I lost my father almost 14 years ago to cancer. It will be officially 14 on November 27th. I was 3 months when he passed. This song reminds brings me to tears every time but I know how lucky I am to have such a great mother! RIP Daddy<3 Forever and always in my heart<3

my daughter is 2 and her dad just left me for his other girlfriend that he got preg. whle we were one a month split up and she gave her kid away well they gave the baby up and now a month and half go he left me and his daughter and he wont even text me back when i text asking if he wants see his dad so even tho i still have my dad i know m lucky cause i see hurt in my daughter at least once week

I am sitting here, bawling like a baby. I was blessed to have a wonderful daddy. I remember being 35 and the world felt like it was crashing down around me. He held my hand and said 'baby, everything will be alright"... and that was all it took to calm me. I couldn't have hand-picked a better daddy. He passed away on June 5, 1996. I miss him so, nevertheless, I will always thank God for allowing me the 35 years I had with him. Can't wait to see him again in Heaven. Love you Daddy.

You know I feel he made this diffently good chance he has a daughter but he would've done the same for a son if that was the case. I am now a 37 year old man who grew up without my father never had a father to look up to when I needed him. Now I have a teenage son of my own and everyday of my life that goes by I can't think what my life would possibly be like without him. He's a liar and a drunk and doesn't care about anyone but himself, but every time I listen to this song, it makes me wish I could be "daddy's little girl". If you have a father in your life that is there, embareses you in public, and is what a father should be. Give him respect and just be thankful for what you have.
