I can't get pro tools to recognize my mbox. When I go to I/O settings it doesn't show the mbox. I can't get anything to record in an audio track. Do you know why this is the case? I can hear my guitar when I play my mbox through my computer speakers, it is set as the default recording device on my control panel, but when I arm an audio track there is just one low signal that slightly bounces up and down but does not respond to any guitar or microphone input.

I have an error that comes up saying " Error 1224 Could not complete your request bc the requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open. (1224) It only happens when I import a background and try to record vocals over it." I looked up the error online and someone said when they got it they messed around with the I/O setup and fixed it... I was wondering if you knew what I need to do to it...

It is so nice to have someone explaing in detail the in's and out's of this program and be able to stop and start his video where ever you need to, until you really understand exactly what he is explaining. God Bless this man. Pro Tools is not easy but it is the best. With this kind of guidness I really believe I can sucessfully learn Pro Tools. Thanks again.
Vocals are mono unless you have a stereo mic

THanks dude - finally understood the Bus paths... I didnt realize it was fairly harmless to rename those stock Bus paths to just Bus 1-2, 3-4 etc..

When you send signal out 1-2, it also sends through the S/PDIF output at the same time

I have just purchased pro tools 8.0.
It is so nice to have someone explaing in detail the in's and out's of this program and be able to stop and start his video where ever you need to, until you really understand exactly what he is explaining.
