@eggnose123 I think it's part did-not-do-the-research and part era-mishmash. Police used to dress like that. Besides, there are a lot of old cars and other ancient forms of technology, and even newsies. I think newsies disappeared in the 80's and 90's - paper routes are more of the norm now. But yeah, I know what you mean by the whole posh thing. When I do a fake brit accent, usually I go for more of a Tenth or Ninth Doctor, and sometimes I can do a bit of a Jon Lennon Scouse.
