Atreyu was changed from the very beginning. If you read the book, our boy Atreyu is fucking GREEN, man. Pretty sure the plot was different also, because the Childlike Empress and the person who Xayide is meant to be, are actually like twin sisters or something.

There was a lot of random changes, between the book(s), the americanised series, and the movies.

It was a noble attempt. George Miller did direct the Mad Max trilogy. The guy who plays Atreyu looks like he got discovered at Wendy's and that wasn't cool. The main actor is good. The directing is good. But the budget was obviously limited. Then on top of that the story wasn't as good as the first. It wasn't the same writer. I still liked it tho for it is a nice piece of my childhood. I'll never watch part 3.
