Savage decided to do the same by associating Santorum with a lewd sex act in order to hurt his campaign. Honestly, this shouldn't hurt Santorum's campaign at all but his supporters are dumb enough to deny gay's rights for a weak association with lewd acts so it is no surprise they would stop supporting Santorum as well.
