All wrong Miss Rhee. There's nothing wrong with Last In First Out. That means, nothing wrong with it if teachers are equal in quality, more or less. If the teacher is a bad teacher then he/she should have been fired anyway. But the unions won't allow it. But that doesn't mean that LIFO should be changed/abandoned. Those two things are a seperate matter. You're combining LIFO and bad teachers on purpose for your other gains... Probably to bypass union rules. I can understand, but it's not good.

It's okay if you don't get it. Teachers are ridiculously hard to be fired because of contracts that unions negotiated. So whatever the fuck the teacher does, he won't be fired. No matter how shitty teacher he is, he will still get the same salary. Then why the fuck would he actually try hard to teach?????

@MartellusCarolus I know it is not easy to fire a teacher. Districts have learned other ways to get rid of them besides firing. But my impression is that most teachers get into it because they want to teach. Whether or not they make extra money has little bearing on how much harder they try. My feeling is that districts actually go after some of the best teachers because they may not be popular.

Why do we listen to Michelle Rhee? She lasted three years in the D. C. schools and antagonized parents. From 2006-2007 to 2008-09, attendance in her district declined to 88%, meaning the average kid stayed home 21.6 days. That has nothing to do with teachers and everything to do with parents...unless you fault teachers for lacking telepathic powers. During the same period, SAT scores in Rhee's district dropped on average from 1217 to 1196, down in all areas, reading, math and writing.

The real problem is its all about privatizing education so only rich kids go to school, which is not a free society. We need to get business out of education, then its not like being at work. Make the rich and corps pay their taxes, its called shared responsibility. Gov and rich working to ?

Today also it was anounced that all Nevada city orchastras will get rid of all seniority and hire new muscians, who cares if the music sucks.

While experience plays a factor, industries evolve so fast that experience often stands in the way of innovation. Once hired, performance is key. I've hired plenty with experience. Some work out fine and lend depth of knowledge. Others sit on their laurels. It's a job, not a right. Your argument hints of entitlement.

"Must have EXPERIENCE."

"Willing to train the right person."

50% of teachers quit within 5 years or less! That is HALF!

Note: Michelle Rhee only taught for 3 years. She never bothered to get her teaching credential. She never bothered to get her administrative credential either.

How does she get all these jobs with no credentials or experience?
