@Drakedragon1315 a classic Sports Car from Holden (a GM Australian Brand) from the 70's they brought it back briefly and even a version was made in LHD so they could be sold in the US and this "US-spec Monaro" was known in the US as the Pontiac GTO (2004 to 2006). Holden is basically Chevrolet in Australia a lot of parts and cars which are badged as Holden come from Chevrolet since GM owns both Holden and Chevy.

Are you serious? Yes the Camaro and Commodore share the same architecture but the Camaro was spawned from the Commodore as Holden was given the job of developing a global RWD chassis and componentry to suit bar engine and gear box. The Camaro had the majority of its R & D done here (Australia) including all of its hot weather testing. So i guess you could say its more Australian then American as the Ozzys did 99 percent of the work!

yeh and its only a 5l not a 6.2 wich is why it needs a supercharger but it uses less fuel and hsv wont be as quick, all ford needs to do is boost up the supercharger and its way above 400kw wich ford is thinking about before its release, hope top gear aus does a show with hsv vs gtho :) should be sweeet

First of all i agree with your comment on the two doors makes a monaro.Second i wouldnt go spitten off too much about the HFV6 Alloytec engine becouse it is still a American design,that yes we do assemble them here.But that is not a Engine to be proud of,alloytec was a terrible engine with lots of oil leaks,have a look into them i have and i must say the 3.8L was much better then that pile of shit.We hate working on the Alloytec engine's

The HFV6 design was a joint venture between Holden and Cadillac. The design is just as much Australian as it is American.

Yes, the 3.8L V6 engine was solid and reliable. The VN/VP engines were a bit harsh and got even crankier in their old age, but still a good engine.

But it is all about technology. The SIDI 3.6 Alloytec is 80 kW more powerful than those early 3.8's, and they are more economical and more refined.

If you would prefer a reliable engine that is easy to work on, then maybe a 186 is more your style, but I don't think an old red motor would cut it in a VE Commodore.

The Camaro is based on the zeta 1 platform which is popularized by Australian Global rear-wheel drive engineering (such as the Commodore Range)... Even the engine (not only chassis system) was also australian engineered... We are still sourcing the Camaro for the MY10... How do i know this, i work @ Holden Headquaters...
