Anyone know how many trees had to be put into the museums of New York City so that these guys could get on stage to tell us how we should live our lives?  After this concert did they travel to any of those museums to see the trees that were put there?

Was Joni Mitchell 8 years old when she wrote this? This song has the most juvenile lyrics I have ever heard in a quote-unquote real song.

@gareth5533 - I like how some of their instruments are made out of dead trees. So they clear-cut paradise so that a bunch of pop stars can play little songs about paving paradise on wooden instruments.

I've quick checked a few live videos with the Counting Crows doing this Joni Mitchell hit< "Big Yellow Taxi". It sounds very similiar, i knew it when i first heard it years ago..i knew i was listening to a remake. The thing is the younger listeners wouldn't know any different!! I remember myself listening to Baby Face by Bobby Vee, and i did't know it was a remake until years later....mind you Bobby's version was a shiner. This remake is heel and toe with Joni's version.

This definetly a remake. I rememeber Joni Mitchells version & it's still heard on classic fm. Being Joni was Canadian is reason enough I guess. It's probably the one I know her best for and yet it's not one i'll tune in here on youtube. The Counting Crows do a great remake of the song but it sounds very similiar to the original from the early seventies. Thx4 postin'
