about a month (possibly 2). I have one hella large book to read (Jesus and the Victory of God), and quite a few scripts to write first. But I can almost gurantee you that it will be up before Christmas.
"An atheist man and a Christian woman love each other, have children, and die together in peace and love."
horribly unlikely, but I'll play along.
"Does God depart them in the afterlife? Does God separate them and erase the woman's memory (interfering with free will)? Or does the woman spend time in heaven knowing that his husband is in hell...so it wouldn't be heaven?"
there is no marriage in heaven. and who says that it will not be heaven?
you assume that GOd must fit modern western criterion, like being all loving (loves everybody). that of course is patently false. look up "does god love everybody" at faithdefenders2008. Dr. Morey gives a presentation of why God does love some people and hates others.
there is man-centered theology, and there is God centered theology.
oh, and there's that inconvenient fact that Hitchens unknowingly proves the existence of God by calling his actions "morally repugnant" as if objective morals really existed.
"but he goes out of his way to seem non-existent"
go to bible gateway and look up "god hides". God hides all the time. It's apparent from the scriptures that God doesn't intend for everyone to go to heaven.
oh, and your argument is an emotional appeal
oh, and one more thing, the difference isn't my parent's financial constraints (my parents are more than willing to finance the research that goes into my apologetics ministry), it's my addiction to frugality.
facilis, I'm not even going to start writing these scripts for months. I still have 5 more books to read, and I might get 3 more. the books I was thinking of were The Gospels for all christians: By Richard Bauckham, Jesus and the Victory of God, by N.T Wright, and the Text of the New Testament by Metzger and Ehrman, or I'll get Wegner's Student's guide to textual criticism and the bible. the student's guide is about 20$ cheaper than the 38$ book by Metzger and Ehrman.
it is actually very useful in debates when you can cite actual scholars in support of your arguments. skeptics rarely take seriously people who only read tektonics and the work of people who have very few qualifications in the field of historical studies.
your right, ive been getting in some debates so had to do some research by watching william craig videos. its very useful but doesn't replace actually reading a book. im going to pick up the reinventing jesus one.
"I am sure you will dethrone Veritas48's series on the resurrection."
it certainly will be above my last 5 part video series on the resurrection LOL
but seriously, it's going to be at least 17 parts, 15 parts of serious content. I put the parts in my description box, and as you can see, I deal with just about every subject that ever pops up in discussions of the resurrection, and just because of its exploratory scope, it probably will dethrone Veritas48's series.
awesome thanks man

How far off is this series now?

yes, I decided not to read Jesus and the Victory of God because I started reading Kitchen's "On the reliability of the old testament" instead.
migkillertwo 3 years ago
Very ambitious project. I too am reading The Resurrection and the Son of God and just got Jesus and the Eyewitnesses. Heavy stuff!

as element771 of TWeb commented on reading the resurrection of the Son of God "Its like running a marathon

"God also lacks a heart. He is NOT love."
You produced a video calling love a delusion, you sociopathic hypocrite.
Can you walk straight? Tie your shoes? Not stab yourself in the eye with a fork when eating?
Because your contradictory nature is astounding.

BTW nerdbombs, I just bought Metzger and Ehrman's "The Text of the New Testament"

in another video he said that obama's economic policy will cause a massive redistribution of wealth, which is dangerous.
migkillertwo 3 years ago
he admitted that in one of his videos.

"He has over 23.5 thousand subscribers"
isn't it sad that the biggest and loudest idiots get the most subscribers? ever wonder why VFX has upwards of 17 thousand subscribers?
"and he made some good videos about Palin and McCain."
that just reinforces my conviction that he's a fucking moron. He's voting for Obama even though he knows that Obama has a shitty economic policy.

"Question for migkillertwo:
If there is so much evidence for theism and the resurrection, why isn't TheAmazingAtheist convinced by it?"
because he's a fucking moron.

"So in heaven... people won't have free will?"
not complete free will. as in, no inclination to sin.
migkillertwo 3 years ago
"The Bible says no human is sinless. So in heaven, do people not-have free will?/ god controls people so that they are sinless?"
pretty much. the holy spirit animating the resurrected bodies prevents this.
migkillertwo 3 years ago
"How could anyone be happy in heaven...while loved ones are suffering in hell?"
could have something to do with that whole thing about there being no sin and death and decay.
"I'm arguing that it is logically inconsistent."
you have not shown the concept to be inconsistent. You have only made emotional appeals.

"Majority of people are non-Christian."
who says that won't change in the near future?
"And since there are thousands of denominations, a lot of people-claiming-to-be-Christians will go to Hell too."
you can avoid hell by following the NT and avaoiding false prophets, and just about all denominations of christianity do a swell job at that.
"he is NOT love" God loves those who he loves
"Jacob I loved, Esau I hated".

it IS a dictatorship.

"that the majority of people would go to Hell?"
how in the fuck would you know that?
"Why does he purposely set his standards to be impossible for a human?"
it's not whether you meet his standards, its whether he actually wants to save you.
"He WANTS people to go to Hell."
yup, pretty much.
migkillertwo 3 years ago
THAT'S AN EMOTIONAL APPEAL!
migkillertwo 3 years ago
"But why doesn't he give people a chance?"
because he doesn't. "I will have compassion upon whom I have compassion".

one more thing, The Text of the New Testament is written by Bruce Metzger and BART EHRMAN.

I'm nominating that comment for a screwball award nerdbombs, I can't get enough of your bullshit.
that's the reason you're not blocked from my channel.

You should start a blog and post the scripts for your videos there.
In case they get erased like a certain other user's ones did. And so anyone else an reference and check your citations in script.

And I am looking for some N.T. Wright books. I looked for it @ borders a few months ago, and they didn't have 'Jesus and the Victory of God.'

I am sure you will dethrone Veritas48's series on the resurrection.
Did you see VenomfangX's new video by the way?

I found it absolutely hilarious. He did a damn good job at the impersonation, but I wish they would stop with the drama
Oh well, either way it's entertainment for me.

I just saw it, and aside from the laugh being too fast and to deep (pitch), the impression was actually pretty damn good.
migkillertwo 3 years ago
At least we now know he watches something besides kent hovind.
Now if only the educational content of his videos was as good as his acting.
facilisdescenus 3 years ago
Yeah that's the one I was talking about, not the TF00t impersonation.
I thought the Joker impersonation was spot on, he really does love his comic books.
