  • exelente, me gustaria que vengan a sudamerica especificamente al peru

  • this is beautiful i love seeing these older vids to enrich the new generation. as a person of youth i love seeing the joy these dancers bring to Heiva.

  • I loved the choreography of duets, also the end, ignored the story of "Josie & Don Over", thanks for sharing, Tahitian culture is charming!

  • By the gods!!! Amazing!!!

  • the blue hair is too long and hugely irritating to watch...

  • ???????? what this comment does here???? We watch dance called ORI and you focus on hair? definitively non-connected with the topic.... :-/

  • I love O Tahiti E

  • Maybe I don´t understand this kind of dance, but for me it´s the nicest dance which I´ve ever seen : ) For me it´s a dance of sensuality, sexuality and nature. Briliant! I wish dance it also : ) but with my Bearrrrrrrrrrrrr !!! Hunnyyyy, I love you dear! ; )

  • Maybe I don´t understand this kind of dance, but it´s the nicest dance which I´ve ever seen. For me it´s a dance of sensuality, also sexuality and the nature ... beautiful. I love it! I wish also dance like that ; ) with my Bearrrrrrrr : ) Hunnyyyy, I love you! : )

  • this is amazing....

i suggest to people that denounce this type of dance with the legs open, that if you dont live in tahiti, arent tahitian and dont understand the dance and what its about.

    SHADDUP!

  • ooo i love the gurl in da greens hair, so pretty! n her dance is flawless fo sho! she does it great! n the guys r hot!!

  • I love it!

especially the couples dance. I've watched the couples dance like 3 times now. the solo was good too.

at the ending I was like ah! (the flashing of the boobs). But She too was a wonderful dancer.

  • blablabla. you're better, you're the best, you're Best of The World and blabla, blabla, bla......:((( just read description on the right part of the vid...blabla

  • this aint the hula for one, its tahitian. next, this is how tahitian dance started. and lastly, that lady they you call a monkey is my sister in law, watch your mouth

  • it's not called HULA in Tahiti and Cook Islands!

  • you're right it's called HURA in TAHITI and URA in COOK ISLANDS

  • And for the record, since ur dumb enough to not know that it's not called Hula, wich are a clompletly different dance, from Hawaii, then how can you even say that Cooks are better, when u clearly doesn't know a shit! tard! Iaorana

  • Exact.

  • their hips move at a lightning speed.THOSE GUYS ARE SMOKIN' HOT!...BRAVO!

  • For the comments below there's some excellent points made..... but being a dance my entire life nd learning my history today's generation is alot different from then. now when we dance we not only dance proudly but we dance to remember what was before we came along. so covering up in today's generation meant no disrespect nor harm. we cant dance with our breast hanging out no more. we could only embrace what was. Are you even the islander?

  • Oh please *rolling eyes* let me ask, what is your dance experience...details please?

  • Ooh that was great, especially the couple in the red

  • DO NOT GET UPSET AND ENVY MY ANCESTORS AND THERE DESCENDANTS BECASUE WE HAVE CULTURE as on the other hand you don't. That is why you judge us so easily. Remember what you have done in your past & what your ancestors have done in there's. YOU WOULD BE ASHAMED

  • haha thats right tell em

  • mlw101,it is SIN that caused adam and eve to cover there bodies. They were ashamed. My ancestors had nothing to be ashamed of. In fact before your ancestors came & bombarded our culture & our way of life they lived life in harmony, in love & with no distress. Continued.....

  • Teriimataha...Manuia!! Mauruuru Roa!!-Je vous remercie de tout coeur. Merci beaucoup pour les film.

  • yea....this dance is of tha hook....tha guy in tha green shorts is the meanest STUD!!!!!!!!GURLZ....U GUYZ LOOK STUNNING!

  • ahh whatever...you all just want to see her breasts! lol

would have been better without it.

    great dancing!!

  • I loved it! does anybody know what's the couple song's name? and where can i find it?

  • its called Otea Tiaro

  • We are NOT Europeans... Is what I meant.

  • Ia Orana

  • I Love Tahiti! I used to live in there for 8 months when I was working on Club Med 2 Cruise Ship .. I went to Bora-Bora, Rangiroa, Raiatea .. wonderful places ever! Of course I smokes some weeds! :D and dancing too ... The house music that were popular at that time in 1997 was Coco Jamboo by Mr. President!

  • iaorana! alors merci de pârtager vos vidéos ;o)))

  • ok?? its like shes strippin!

  • i think the red girl is better den the green...

  • woah showing of the breasts in either polynesian culture is very disrespectful even if they are story telling.

  • Our cousins of Rarotoa are very close to us in culture part. I agree in the fact to be closed and different;o) Concerning barebreast christianism told us it is bad but in ancient time it wasn't it was natural

  • CORRECTION, showing breast in Polynesian culture only became "disrespectful" after the arrival of missionaries. So, before that, you better believe that all your female ancestors were running around topless - learn your history!

  • i liked it, my grandmother is tahitian and i know very little about the culture. i use to think the cook islands and tahiti were so much alike, but i take it back. there both different. thanks for posting.

  • I enjoyed the couples tahitian dance but I honestly have to say that the solo dance sucked. Her feet were so far apart and tacky. Other than that, nice video.

  • hahaha... Ok, i must explain what this kind solo is : The name "Josie & Don Over" is the name of a famous american (and his wife) who visited Tahiti there is a several years ago... read the end of this explanation at the top right (description of the video content)

  • re:her feet being far apart..um its supposed to be like that in this number. If you know that then youd probably appreciate the number more...except exposing her breasts at the end I thought wasnt neccasary

  • well if your are culturally envolved this is true tahitian way. This is traditional dance, every dance tells a story this is one of of them. We are Europeans...

  • I Meant We Are NOT Europeans, we dance traditionally as much as possible.

  • Iaorana, like Kaelani8 said this is the pre-european way to dance ORI, just read the explanation of the clip on top right of this video. Barebreast is natural in Polynesia before Europeans (specially religious) came and pervert mind about this. Yous watch this like westerners and their christian eyes and not like islanders. She danced it like the way it was.

  • First of all I am polynesian and Yes I may be looking at it religiously, and I fully understand that this is traditional tahitian dancing, I did enjoy this solo very much But my opinion still stands that I still think that it is innappropriate to show her breasts regardless of whether it is natural or not. Nothing against the dancer. Shes a beautiful dancer and I love this group. But I still dont think it is right to expose her breasts...thanks for reading

  • Your opinion is yours, but no one cares. If you don't like it, don't watch it.

  • Oh brother *rolling eyes*

Go read your Bible and leave the bare breasts to us cause we likes it! If you are not Tahitian, and I don't think you are, then don't comment. This is traditional Tahitian dancing, not some Waikiki shit.

  • I dont know how someone can find barebreasts offensive. Its ridiculous to treat the human body as something to be ashamed of or to let it control your opinions and make it immoral. To be honest, if your Polynesian then a majority of your ancestors lived out their lives exposing breasts, legs, bottoms and private parts, its something to be embraced, especially in a world where almost everything is disposable, including our culture and history.-So why is it wrong?

  • "covering up" doesnt mean "to be ashamed of your body". I think it has alot to do with respecting yourself and having respect for those around you. I highly doubt that a majority of my ancestors lived their lives walking around nude...I think you all watch to many hollywood movies...Im sure we all can embrace our own private parts without having to expose them to an audience..haha

  • Well then I highly doubt your ancestors were Polynesian. Besides, Hollywood cant glamourise culture & community and otea as well as the young lady has in the movie above. Besides about the embracing and exposing our body parts comment, you wouldnt get it anyway- silly ignorant, uncultured, eurocentric fool. -I also said to let it control your opinions and make it immoral. Popaa!

  • mlw101, if your a true Polynesian, then there is a 99% probability that your ancestors walked around exposed, not naked, but exposed in one way or another. Was the dancer nude? No, she only bared her breasts. You need to learn your history, not the history the white man told you, but the real history of Polynesia!! Nakedness was not wrong, until a white man came to the islands and waved their fingers in disapproval, accompanied by the Bible.

  • its quite funny tho how us polys were taught by the white man what was wrong and what wasnt. Nowadays alot of us are covering up and the pakehas are stripping off lol

  • thats my sister in law that your talking about. her name is Maureen Tuturu. she was the best female dancer. thats the traditional style. she's beautiful and the dance too. exposing her breast was also beautiful. if you did some history on tahitian dancing, you would find out alot of intresting facts. like the traditional style of tahitian dancing.

  • You dont dance, Yea? cause this is the way of Tahiti, don't hate because you don't know, appreciate the culture. Every Island is not the same

    Kaelani Taha

  • it's the ancient way of dancing.

  • mahalo! :)

  • tight soloz!

  • i love it!! thanks buddy

  • very nice video, thank you for sharing. Hope to have some videos soon.
