  • Freedom can never be as long as there is a government in power to tell you what to do as all governments inevitably do

  • @safenders Impossible. Humans are tribal beings. We join / form groups, compare /compete on all levels &in ALL aspects of life itself. "Us against THEM" is the behavioral state which we ALL own. < And that is because humans evolved.

That's like trying to imagine there's a religion that is "Correct" or accurate, when they all just compete for membership and numbers anyway. Just try to treat people as you might like them to treat you, unless you're feeling tribal that day, lol.

  • I like Hendrix but everyone keeps acting like hes the best... But i like the way he uses his guitar alone to express feelings, kinda like buckethead.

  • @CruzerZful I'm sure you have someone you think is the best.....everyone's got opinion some people just have more fans than others doesn't make one opinion more relevant than the other : ) Groove on man

  • Freedom from Romania!

  • oooooooooosssssssss un diooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooossss

  • I used to listen to Jimi Hendrix's greatest hits to get pumped up for track meets in High School: Voodoo Child, Star Spangled Banner, Freedom and Night Bird Flying were the ones I used

    Worked like a charm..

  • Do you want to know why I'm depressed? Cos all I had was Smash Hits/ Ladyland/ Ultimate Experience. All Ultimate had from this period was Angel, and wrongly placed as Track 4 or something. That was shoddy marketing and insufficient.

  • every time i listen to this song i go into my sisters room and beat the shit out of her with my dick

  • hendrix at this time was kicking so much ass. oh hendrix we will never forget what you did. your life was so short but so productive when you took on music as your full time passion and career. we will always carry the torch for you my man. freedom. americans should make this song part of ron paul's running for president. yeah i think hendrix would like obama but would dig ron's heart much more. ron i think would be proud to have this as one of his songs. he was there!!!

  • Jimi @ his funkiest! Definately among the coolest grooves ever....keep on pushin'...

  • @kimmykum1 I agree a primo vinyl set up can't be beat although my Korg 1 bit recorder comes amazingly close

  • How you can dislike JIMI HENDRIX!? Y U NO!?

  • @theshomchez so true!!

  • @Seem1300 unfortunately it doesnt work like that haha

  • straight from the master

  • I wish for Freedom to all of us!

  • I thought god is immortal...

  • what you guys think: would it be better if mr. hendrix could actually sing or would a real singer just subtract from the whole, and spoil that cosmic instrumental perfetion?

  • @TheKiwiMonkey if it doesnt come from the real you, or if souls exist, the soul, it isnt singing to me, this man could sing!!

  • @TheKiwiMonkey The man had a great voice. What are you talking about?

  • @TheKiwiMonkey get a brain

  • HOLY SHIT

  • y u drain my soul Jimmi :(

  • Wow this songs so great! why isnt it played often? Is it cause hes black? :x

  • This is why he is the greatest in his genre!!

  • Overthrow everything! Freedom is exactly what we all need. Everyone drink "Electric Water".

    lol

  • Fuck DUTY.

  • #613

  • the 10 people that disliked this video are death!

  • @edd13win no, they're govt agents!

  • Why was I born in the 90's?????

  • @JoiiLife I know our generation has destroyed music:(

  • @MrMichaelMcG so true. -.-

  • @MrMichaelMcG and our politics have destroyed a lot of our freedom

  • @MrMichaelMcG That's surely true. But aim innocent xD

  • @JoiiLife same :(

  • Jimi was waaaaay ahead of his time, if only he was still alive we would have more diverse, creative, sick classics like this one

Dam why do so many greats have to go so early?

  • journeythruthepast.

Nicely put. He could have done anything he wanted to!!!! As a teenager in the late 60's I was completely blown away!!!! Still am!!!

  • I feel like what Funkadelic was doing at the time was where Jimi was headed. I think in his middle years he would've infused some combination of rock, funk and jazz a la James Blood Ulmer. He really had a breadth of tastes and a guitar ability that could've made anything he tried work out beautifully. It's too damn bad we never got to hear that progression continue.

  • Used to listen to this every day after school on FM radio when it was out

  • jimi, stevie, santana. u decide

  • When God created the guitar he said, let there be Jimi Hendrix.

  • to all the old people out thier thinking that kids of today listen to nothin but techno you are wrong, it is drainbow's who listen to tecno and hip hop. there are alot of kids today including myself that listen to johnny winter, allman brothers, edgar winter, blue oyster cult, grandfunk railroad, greatful dead, jimi, the band, ccr, traffic, blind faith, the beatles, jefferson air plane, ect,, i could go on and on. so dont be so quick to judge a book man. thats the problem with america now days

  • @0601morgan You said it right, brother.

  • Listen, young children of today, as Jimi punches you in the face with a bowl full of MAJESTIC.

The delightful taste you are experiencing for the first time is called talent.

You don't recognize it because you are ignorant of real music. It is not your fault that you are growing up in the proverbial asscrack of musical evolution. But it is your fault if you don't expand your mind.....

  • @13MindsEye Nah, they aren't ignorant of real music, you're ignorant about younger people. Of course many children won't be into this, but MANY teenagers like this stuff so don't be so quick to generalise because whilst you're calling them stupid, you're making yourself seem stuoid.

  • @snoopatomicdog I can't seem to find in my quote where I call any young people stupid. Ignorance and stupidity are two different things. While I will concede to you that I did reference young people as a generality, I don't think they're stupid. That is why I make reference to the fact that they should expand their musical tastes to more than just the tripe being released en masse today. Being ignorant to the massive past of musical legends is a shame, which was my point. Enjoy!

  • What's that Hendrix song that goes dun dun dun, dun dun

  • @cbappa2 ? its kinda difficult to understand what your asking

  • @cbappa2 If my brain is wired as scarily as yours, I believe you are thinking of "Spanish Castle Magic".

  • @cbappa2 born under a bad sign

  • @Damiii7 There would need to be an extra dun before the comma for it to be born under a bad sign. But in all seriousness the song im looking for has a part where it's just jimi and a clean sounding guitar, playing what sounds like the same chord 3 times in succession going up the guitar neck. Like 1,2,3. Dun.. dun, dun. Sounds like the end of the song.

  • @cbappa2 It has got to be The wind cries Mary? 3 clean chromatically ascending chords.

  • @HendrixFreakazoid You win my good sir. That was it. Thanks, your username is justified

  • @cbappa2 That was an easy one. It's the ones where people are like "What's the name of the song where he goes WHHEEEHHWWW RRGGHHH AAANNGGG DDNNJJJ WUP WUP WUP?" that drive me crazy.

  • all u young bloods fredom from the haunt that killed this great mind--horse--listen to the words

  • 8 people dnt care for freedom

  • this is something we are rapidly losing to the machine.dgb

  • I remember when the CRY OF LOVE album came out. I was living in California then. Man some of my friends didn't think it was that good. But, I loved it. Still have it today and will never part with it. R.I.P. Jimi.

  • Not one person, group or whoever can match this song. Jimi was a very TALENTED musician. That is lacking in many groups of today. Next time you watch a modern group look how little they move their fingers when they play guitar. Instead of music they like to make noise. I wonder what Hendrix would think of those guys if he were alive.

  • Freedom is priceless

  • I intend to have "FREEDOM" Tattooed across top of my Back in Gothic script!!

  • i am german and i can watch it^^ vpn ftw @GEMA :D

  • Freedooooooooooom am not working in the fucking shoe shop anymoreeeee !!!!!!!

  • FREEDOM

  • I want Freedom!

  • Thats what we need is FREEDOM:}

  • People...this is what i pray for. People.... It's ours to give away...or take back. What you gonna do? The Right Thing? American People Unite.

  • Antonija ti si moja sloboda! Uz tebe do kraja Svijeta!!

  • Great song of course. I think Jimi was singing about himself and the things that were going on in his life at the time.

  • @retroman1019 Exactly, and I related to Jimi, but can apply it to my life. His music is times-less and I want Freedom too.

  • who made this song?

  • I will marry this song :$

  • @KreepYo I'll be the best man!!!!!~E

  • que pinche rolota, un orgasmo musical!!

  • Ya...always loved this song!! Part of me always a bit sad to hear it...as it reminds me he's gone...but still...an awesome post!! Thanks "Docta"! ~KStKing

  • Loved this song, but it's a post death production. If he was alive it would be 20 times better. This is total studio; he does have a live version which sounds great. I think it's on the Isle of White concert. I think Hendrix may have been a Conservative or Libertarian. You are messing with my life and I’m going to bring my lead. Messing with my wife and children. WOW.

  • RESPECT...............

  • This one is 1000% complete sensory overload for me. From start to finish Powerful, Powerful stuff!

  • dud he looks pimp

  • i dont know what i love more, the guitar work, or the powerfull lyrics!

  • freedom is a state of mind. no more no less.

  • Oh, boohoo the corporate America is taking all your money! It's not them you need to worry about, it's the banks. But you wouldn't know that because when there's a moment, you join it, without even knowing what it's actually about.

  • @DAVWAVE There is no comment truer than what you just said. I never looked at that in that way-that it's just lazy people complaining about how they actually have to work for their money. It's not even halfway like the depression and I can't wait to hear what they'll complain about when it hits.

  • @benlorenc please show some respect, nothing to do with occupying public space.

  • Jimi worked to hard for his money. His handler worked him like a slave.

  • @lughhgul Funny. But racist and in bad taste. Worth it?

  • FREEEEEDDDDDDOOOOOMMMMM ☮

  • Hendrix is free.

  • FREEDOM!!!! YEAH!!

  • Listen everyone, social security is not government money, it was put in their hands by the working citizens to hold for us until we were old and not working anymore; it was to never ever be used for anything else, its our money not theirs THE I R S

  • you occpyers are a bunch morons and Jimi Hendrix himself would say so! The place you should occupy is the space around the whitehouse and make that idiot you voted in listen to you.

  • I just think what the music Icons such as Jimi Lennon Janis Jim etc. would be saying about the world today if they were still alive...RIP ALL OF YOU!!!Great Music...Peace babeeee!

    btw!666~69

  • great hendrix tune!

  • im in my school library right now. lol

  • the man with the freedancing fingers from hell.. look out !!!

    ((=^.^=))

  • Woah! I just started listening to Hendrix. Why have I been missing this all my life? This song is... well, Woah! like I said

  • in the long run deficit reduction can only hurt the average people by cutting programs like medicare and social security, programs that lots of people need. Creating jobs by putting money into energy and renovation are what america needs.

  • @benlorenc I'm 14 years old and went to Occupy Wall Street it was such a great experience. It is so great in a United States that needs a revolution.

  • @jlhyz2 why dont you go to school get a good job and then change the nation stop pissing away your days on protest where you dont even know what the hell youre there for

  • @jordanreyesivan you know i do go to school. i'm in the honor roll every quarter. also I do know what i'm there for. Me and the rest of the people there are trying to tell congress to stop focusing on the richest in the United States and start focusing on the common people. I don't see how anyone could honestly think that the richest people in the country should be taxed less than those who can barely pay their taxes. Deficit reduction shouldn't be our main priority it should be creating jobs.

  • @jlhyz2 true that

  • A. Fucking. Genius. Straight from the soul, brother! Love it!

  • Anyone who tries to "occupy" music is the 1%, the bottom one percent

  • Occupy Jimi Hendrix

  • 0:17 S.N.E.R.( sweetest note ever recorded)

  • 0:58 - 1:14 gives me chills

  • the bible is wrong... instead of the sentence ''jesus is a son from god'' it must be ''jimi is a son from god''

  • @superboertje12 or even better, god is the son of jimi

  • @ElNegroMelcocha yeah:P

  • @ElNegroMelcocha Good thing he didnt believe in such childish things, huh?

  • @superboertje12 hm, he is a great guitarist and songwriter, one of the best, but..take it easy lol, dont have to worship him, he was just a man. ;) worship his talent and feel for music maybe i can understand, but even then, i think he would not like to be worshipped at all. its not what he was about. :))

  • @eshnic and you would say jesus was not a man?

  • @superboertje12 i wasnt there when he was born :) if all thats written about jezus is true, then he was a man. an extroardinary man, but a man. and what i read about him makes me think even he didnt like to be worshipped. ^^ but i agree, jimi had an amazing gift, even the fact you and i are talking about him now so long after he died makes it clear he will never be forgotten. :)) and ofc you are "free" to worship him all you want. who am i to say you shouldnt. my mistake :)) peace :P

  • @eshnic maybe its a lot easier to talk in dutch:P

  • 113,697 Is Only My Views

  • i wish i could be the same as jimi !!!!!!

  • @3645472 dead?

  • @johnnyjolijt

  • 4th of july i have jimi,s starbangled banner then freedom, then U2bullet in blue sky on a loop, playing loud, as i blow off firworks,i been rockin ta jimi sht man, he was one of my first albums,40 yrs later i still rock to it,never ever does it get tiring, got everything they have put out there, rock on jimi

  • Knocks my socks off everytime!

  • ahh.... the memories. A true legend. So glad I was able to be a part of that generation. This album was truly a sign of Jimi's style transgressing into the next decade. He is missed.

  • i love jimi hendrix he's the greatest getuarist ever

  • this song was a favorite of stevies for sure

  • i cant hear Hendrix too often...i had a good friend who played exactly like him and kinda looked like him it was weird ! unfortunately he was a druggie ...what a fool to deprive people of that talent...it was almost like Jimmy had a second chance!

  • they used to use this song on OLN!

  • never get tired of jimi hendrix. ♥

  • "It's my ringtone" well that's a ringing endorsement (geddit).

  • "It's my ringtone" What a ponce!

  • @ohgirf stfu

  • cool

  • I Love the way the fellas in here think of freedom. ;)

  • who are the 3 idiots that thinks this sucked? i believe Little Stevie Winwood played keyboards on this track.

  • @footballfanmc He says, "so I brought my lead." As in he brought his gun.

  • you've got my pride hangin out my bed, you messin with my life so i *undiscernable*

lol, everytime i hear this song i think of nicky on the unicycle

  • @footballfanmc

    The *undiscernable parr would be*

    "bought my lead"

  • WTF? Why in the hell are a lot of people talking about political crap here? Not wanting to register their car more than once, lawyers and stupid shit like that. Totally missing the meaning of this song. If you think you're not so free in this country, try this experiment. Go somewhere else and see what true lack of freedom is. With all our faults, America is still the most free. Unless we keep letting Obama have his way. Now THAT'S politcal. But this song has noting to do with this. ENJOY IT.

  • @TheAxe4Ever Freedom from financial parasites that sit on their collective asses making you pay their way through life?

I've heard that nonsense before, this is the best the world has to offer, try another country,, blah and blah and blah and on and on. Well there is a better way out of the organized criminal grasp right here. Try it you might like it, FREEDOM.

  • @ISamuelII HUH?

  • @TheBlackKinght38 I suppose you would need to read the entire thread to get it. Very simply one guy says "this is the best we have" refering to the limited freedoms we have today. Is like a penned up pig is saying to other penned up pigs "why aren't you happy, you get fed all the time."Maybe a form of Stockholm syndrom?

Sure it may be worse in other countries,,, but why is that an excuse or a reason to stop seeking 100% freedom from the criminal parasites and their easily breakable treaties.

  • sick guitar, sick drums, sick bassline, great vocals and cool lyrics. Really, this song has everything

  • Rock on !

  • Jimi Hendrix is truly one of the rock gods of all time along with the stones, the doors, led zeppelin, kiss, beethoven, motley crue ect..

  • @Darkangelrock92 beethoven? lol

  • @SoundboyEric motley crue? Kiss?

  • Freedom ... Give it to me

    I love it dude

  • @JimmyPage97 "give it to me"?

    Take it.

  • @ISamuelII I don't know. But I like the phrase "give it to me." So much to day I hear this old saying "freedom isn't free" (its earned). But I totally disagree. So I really liked hearing "Give it to me"

But yea "take it" works great too... Keep on pushin' Straight ahead.

  • @ISamuelII have you taken your freedom yet?

  • @JimmyPage97 In more ways than you can imagine.

ReRegister my car over and over again?? Nope not me no more. Once was enough and if they push it I'll take their damn plate off it. Mandated servitude with an insurance co? Nope.

  • @ISamuelII freedom is not having to pay for your registration or insurance? You might not be so free if you get pulled over, if you know what I mean.

  • @JimmyPage97 I know, but the important thing is winning in court, which is normally dismissed before a jury gets to over turn the illegal law.
