Tyson is a trained protection dog that has been proven sound through passing the CGC, and other tests, and a wonderful example to idiot owners like this guy WHY it's IMPERATIVE to socialize and train your power breed. The guy's dog is a Presa, and they are much larger and more powerful than a pit as they are a mastiff type breed. There is no hate here toward pits...she is stating facts...they are powerful and NOT for the idiot owner. This is coming from the owner of a former fight pit.

Pitbulls were bred for baiting bulls and then dog fighting, they were never bred for being a soft family pet. Why people insist on keeping them as such is why we have so many problems with them. It's the same reason people have problems with border collies kept as house pets - they need a job to do as close as possible to the original breed purpose.

I don't hate pitbulls but it's hard to argue with the statistics - they are an extremely dangerous breed when not handled and trained correctly.

@corpse881 She never said anything about Pitbulls being an inherently aggressive breed. She is giving people a realistic view of what a large, powerful breed can become if not socialized or trained correctly. A Pitbull is no more likely to become an aggressive dog than a Labrador, but a Pitbull can cause a lot more damage if they AREN'T trained correctly. She is looking at the individual dog, not the breed. She shouldn't omit this case just because it happens to fit the (unfair) stereotype.
