Castlevania 4 is one of my favorite SNES titles. Do not forget that this is a beta version, which I think is not bad, but the graphics are still inferior in quality, but as a beta version of a great game is forgiven. ;)

The first boss shown in the beta at 0:37 is so different looking compared to the one in the final! That is one cool skeletal horse! Notice how he can actually bend his whole neck, and head all the way back behind the rider! He was unable to do that in the final! I wonder why they changed that!

Fortunately enough, the final build of the game was kilometres ahead this unsubstantial mixture shown in the beta version. The guys at Konami actually managed to get blood out of this 'beta stone'....WOW.

The colour purple that was used in the background in the caverns on the beta, was still used in the final game, only it appeared on stage 4 the Clockwork Mansion.

And those durons, look pretty ghostly. It's too bad they showed more of the stable on the beta.

Cause I was thinking exatly like you before. When I just played a few but I can tell you there are a lot of Castlevania better than C4 in fact. ;-)

The 3 for exemple is really cool, Rondo of blood too, Symphony of Night is great and the later games on DS are very good too.

Yeah I played the first 3 on the nes, all of the gba ones, symphony of the night, and more. This game is my favorite because it has the classic 80's castlevania feel, but it's updated and has an amazing soundtrack and more.

SoTN is an amazing game as well, I just prefer controlling Simon Belmont without save points, takes me back to my childhood.

Best attempt I ever done in a video game was this game. Beat the game several times over without dying. And everytime you beat the game, more monsters appears,harder to kill. I havent played it in years but the game is very easy(well for me that is)
