No matter who ever made this tune first, this is absoulutely awsome!!! Such a great feeling for each note and beat, so low, slow and totally controlled. Amazing!
thought i'd never hear this wee song again. had it on an old pickwick lp way back when.great tune.great band.great fuckin band no matter who played guitar. RIP Phil
Yeh Snowy plays some great Bluesy stuff. Bit of a mismatch it turned out to be for Lizzy. On this track he's perfect for the job tho'.
Check out Snowy White's 'Bird of Paradise' '84 single to hear him in his element - a fine player, cool song. Its on Youtube @: youtube . com / watch?v=ixV9nHFX9UU
i dont know about mismatch... for me it doesnt get any better then when he puts his guitar into overdrive/feedback in the 'killer one the loose' solo. thats so tasteful its ridiculous! there are many other great snowy classics like angel of death, sweetheart, the pressure will blow.. man definitely deserves more cred! but then again, which lizzy guitarist does not!?
Well I agree completely that he did some great work on those great tracks. I love the song 'Renegade' in particular. But Snowy even says it himself that it was a bit of a mismatch. Don't get me wrong friend, I love those songs, but being a Lizzy fan from the start (and guitar player), I do think he was too 'pure' for the band. Lizzy had some fine guitarists alright, it was part of the magic. And as 4 Gary Moore well what a player. Cheerz m8 ... guitanorak
Oh I should mention that I love this song. Lizzy done a few good Blues songs, and this is defo one of them. Are u familiar with 'Slow Blues' from Vagabonds? I usta gig that one, luv it - pure Eric Bell. He even managed to put a Classical sorta piece in the middle of it. Classical + Blues, now there's a mix :). guitanorak
Now that´s how every guitar should sound!

Now this is a truly classic, soulful , blues guitar solo from Snowy !This song is far superior to Trouble Boys which was it's corresponding A side.

It is a nice cover, but we shouldn't forget to acknowledge the original artist- Johnny Winter

@ThinLynottFan the original is not Winter but John lee Hooker "it serve me right to suffer"

@jilg74 It's actually copyrighted to Curtis Mayfield, But I can't find a curtis version.. Winter changed the last verse drastically.
