Does it have to rotate to print, or could it print left to tight rather than circular? Very nice machine and design!

@joetylerdale Thanks for the comments. This machine is designed to print only as the nickel is rotated, but the same print head could be used with a machine that is designed to move right and left.

Very nice use of a couple microcontrollers.
I'm working on a BS2 controlled "marble machine" myself which explores many of the same fundamentals.

Where did the coin chute part come from with the rotating cover?

That was custom made from plastic. The rotating part is a plastic disk mounted to an RC servo to move it.
