  • 20litres/100km o.O

  • 210 kmh?

i´ve pushed it to 220...and once where the highway was a bit downhill 230kmh

  • stay in 4th gear until 6.500 for better acceleration ;)

  • how do you like the car. is it good and comfortable??

  • @gabilitooo they are a nice car i have one and its a handy tight little car heavy on fuel tho

  • @Webbor this car here has only 5 gears its the first model...in 2009 they added a sixth gear and a 2 ltr´enhine while this is a 1.6

  • @FuckinDeathMetal mine is 2007 and has 6 gears

  • 215 km/h? is that all she's got? That's lame!

  • @h0nda1nt3gra1 its just an 1.6 with 115BHP..... i have the same car and it just wont get over 215 but still.... you cant drive it anywhere else then germany xD

well you can but not legal =)

  • @h0nda1nt3gra1

what the fuck you need more than 215

  • 21 litre per 100 kilometer :D

  • @je9ry

Thats less than a cl65 at 100km/h lol

  • I went to 220km for like 15sec and no warning light came on..

  • Weird, I've had mine up to 140mph down hill and no limit light came on, maybe UK cars don't have that limit warning?

  • 20l geil! :D

  • to all the haters and bashers: the 116 has a DECENT performance. although the acceleration could be better, the chassis is very sporty. it is able to drive 200kmh permanently, no matter if the road is flat or not. i got mine today and had to drive it home in a 3 hour autobahn ride, had some time to test the car.

  • The 116 is a 2 litre isn't it? Not a 1.6? I only ask as I've seen a lot of car sites quote it as 1.6 but the BMW web site states that it's a 2 litre. Confusing.

  • No this one really is a 1.6. Later cars from 2008 have a bit higher redline and a detuned 2 litre that only makes a handful more bhp and lb-ft, and has insignificantly better performance - but is more fuel efficient and cheaper to build because it means BMW only has to build one engine block to cater for three models.

  • 19,7 l/100 km

    nice :D

  • i got a bmw 130 and i got that up to 155mph and i got a bmw m3 7 speed got that up to 200mph

  • @SuperTarek11 did you get the limiter removed on the m3 cuz those are usually limited to 155mph

  • Limit ;D

  • 116i only drives around 180km/h if you don't drive down a hill or have wind from behind

  • shut up man

  • @V3eroZ nope had one some myself 2 years ago and it did 215 flat

  • never try,in japan

  • way to go! i wouldn't do that to my car though..

  • Why not? Doesn't hurt the car at all!

  • @prius87 well you drive a prius so it's not like you could choose to even try bud

besides what's the big deal these cars are meant to travel that fast they're not american built 1978 cars that fall apart at speeds above 90mph

  • The road is 100% flat. I wish we had same roads here in Greece. :(

  • I love this song

tell me this song and singer

    if you know

    thank you

  • paula abdul - rush rush

  • thank you very much!!

    I could find out

  • Poor engine

  • come on people sayin its toooo slow what do yu expect from a 1.6 115/120hp hatchback

  • @pak1ali Exactly. Everyone else seems to think a 116i has a 3-litre engine. They ought to get some knowledge. 213 km/h indicated from a 1.6 is pretty good going.

  • Comment removed

  • @pak1ali bmw 116i is a 2,0L

  • @atlasfop the 116i is the 1.6 and the 116D is the 2.0

  • only 5 guck mal mein video mit meinem 116i mit 6 gang ;) .... Grüße

  • Well the factory claims it to go to 204 km/h and its a 1350kg car with 122hp engine, simple calculations based on the laws of physics says itll never hit 220 km/h for real.

Start by getting the tacho measured, its prolly 5% off like most other never cars.

Then do the test on a surface that can be confirmed as flat, not downhill and in addition the can be no wind. ;-)

The amount of power it takes to get a car from 204 to 220 is massive, it doesnt just happen by "mistale". LOL

  • @SizZ1eR I have a 2004 116i 1.6 and due to the gearing the car is quite quick between 70-120 for a 1.6 hatchback. i have had an indicated 135mph on a flat road. and on avg cars over read by 3-4 mph in case you fitted different wheels/ different tyre pressures etc.

  • @radyraa So far i dont think its slow, actually i think BMW did a good job performance-wise with this car.

I too had cars that on occassion went way fastyer than the factory stated it would, for instance the Cit BX 16v (160HK) i had it hitting the rev limiter in top gear and that happens at around 230 km/h, however it would happen on occassion and that indicates, that the factory is right when they say itll do only 218 km/h. ;-)

  • whats 220 km in miles

  • 136 mph

  • i got my 116i to 220kmh.. was manuel though

  • What means "LIMIT"?

  • Tires reached their limit of warranty ^^

  • didn't it have a sixth gear??

  • yes but onli if its an manual.

  • no, only 5

  • You have Rush Rush by Paula Abdul in the background. The 116i is not slow. My 2006 Volkswagen Passat 2.0T is really slow. I was boared on the way to Publix so I floored it. It took eight "Mississippi " ( 8 sec) for it to reach 55 mph.

  • Well the 116i takes 10 seconds to reach 60mph so it's no rocket.

I thought the 2.0T Passat is supposed to hit 60 in under 8 seconds?

  • Today my 118d was for service at the bmw garage for one day. They gave me a 116i untill my car was finished. I was SO GLAD when i received the phonecall that my car was ready....The 116i realy sucks bigtime, so sloooooooow!!!

  • at that speed with one hand? mmmmh

  • here in germany a lot of people drive at that speed every day... one hand is no problem

  • If u have a descent german car ;-)

  • see my video with one hand :D

  • 20 L/100 at that speed OMG

  • sry no this vid was also made in german - so i don´t know why the 5 th gear accelerates better

  • well in my video it worked in the 6th gear - mybe the cars for the us are different

  • who sings the song whats the tittle

  • song name is Rush Rush by Paula Abdul

  • if i spend that time at full injection i can reach 250km/h on my bimmer...

Sixth gear is for economy not for top speed, but u can reach high ones.

    116 has same block as 1.9i 16valve 143hp on economy version 1.6i 16v 120hp, remember a 318ti/is can reach 225 kmh, with five gears.

  • omg - the bmw gears are different . for other cars you´re right , but bmw makes the gears the way that the highest gear is for the higes speed . there is no economy-gear . you just accelarate until the fith one dosn´t work anymore an than you clutch into the 6th one

  • there is no autobahn here, 6th gear is the eco one here... cant drove 120kmh in 6th gear cuz there has no response.

I tested 116i ( few :P), and owner adviced me.

  • Next time listen to the motor instead of the Paula!

  • yo con un nissan micra 1.3 cogí 195 km/h

  • 215 km/h with a 1.6 litre 115 hp car, that is not bad at all!!

BMW knows how to make em!

  • öhm....RECHTSFAHRGEBOT????^^

  • Yeah the R32 I have heard is a great car, both thr R32 and 130i are very rare cars here in the UK. If you haven't driven the 130i I would try and get a test drive, rear wheel drive with that amazing straight 6 engine is awesome!

  • Hello 01tbrooj I had driven the 130i and I can tell you that I liked a lot but I haven´t driven the Golf R32 but my tendensy is to preffer the AWD cars.

I live in Mexico and VW doesn´t want to bring the R32 because they say is no need and with the GTI is enough. Also the non-turbo-engine cars suffer a lose of power that is arround 20% here in Mexico because of the altitute.

  • I used to have that car, I swapped it for a 130i, best decision I ever made!

  • Yes the car is very comfortable and has very nice driving position but this poor engine is not enough to have fun.

Congratulation for you 130i I really like that car but I would rather buy a R32 in my opinion best Golf ever made!!!
