Can u please tell me for how long did you allow the the dough to sit before starting to form the cookies with the dates inside? Do you set it aside to breathe? thank you
ya a3yn, I'm gonna try making these this week inshallah, I'm excited! It's so hard to find good arabi recipes online, barak allahu feeky for putting yours up.
thanks for your nice comment engafaf, the ones with farina are really good and soft too, i love them :) but this one is very easy to do and the kaek is good with tea :)
sure their easy ,the ones that i make take sometime to decorate with the fork clip but the results are amazing peices of art the one with dates look like flowers and the ones with walnuts or pistachios look like truffles.
Hey summer. My aunty had a recipe of the cookies,, and as soon as she made them.. after like 3-7 hours the cookies got Really HArd.. Please tell me if this recipes are Tender Cookies and stay that way after a while! please tell me what should i do to prevent them from being Hard Thanks
Amoora, with this recipe , the cookies will not turn hard at all...all you have to do after leaving them out to cool, store them in tupperware, covered. that's it, they should last for couple of weeks, just like fresh.
these look delicious, mimi!! I just got married and moved away from mommy who used to make them every eid so I'm going to try this recipe for Eid cookies at the end of this month =) THANK U!!
nilejewels02, thanks for coming by. i hope the recipe turns out great for you. the quantity i have for this recipe makes a lot of cookies, make sure to alter it according to the amount you want to make. best of luck and happy Ramadan and a happier Eid to you and your family.
those look so good!! do you happen to know the recipe for the dough of the cookies that are also stuffed with a date filling but are pressed onto decorative molds? I love pretty much all date-filled cookies, but I can't wait to use my traditional wooden molds that I bought in the Middle East : )
Toni, i will get the recipe you are talking about and will videotape it , i hope soon!! thanks for watching and leaving a comment. have a wonderful weekend!
wafaali24, we make it back home yes, but this recipe i filmed on one of my trips back to Chicago!! all the ingredients are there. thanks for coming by.
Those look delish, but wow at the size of the recipe :o) I will have to do some conversion and try it out on a smaller scale. If they go over well with the kido's do you think the batter/filling would freeze well? I could go for mixing the larger recipe and freezing portions of that for later baking :o).
Cindy, well, the recipe is huge, but my sister made like three big tupperwares filled with them, and they keep well for a month or so, and if you keep them in the fridge in an airtight container, they keep longer than a month. i have a feeling that you CAN freeze the dough and use it later. good luck!
WOW they look so delicious. I love dates
