I've been inside that one too, a year ago! Wells turbines are a lot simpler than the makers pretend, every village in the azores could have a small one, and a wind turbine on their roof.
lol, jobs schmobs. What happened when the industrial revoloution became computerise and most of the factory workers had no jobs? they went to the tertiary sector

Wave power sounds great until you consider that oil companies create lots of jobs but wave power does not. What we need are jobs. Sure, war isn't cheap, but we need the oil. With global warming, waves will stop being strong. Then what? Vote NO to "alternatives". Vote YES to securing middle east oil for the future.
considering the electrical industry is booming, those oil workers can switch to biodiesel and natural gas. there is tons of money to be made with solar, wind power, and even wave power. someone has to build and maintain these things you know. besides, whenever the oil companies catch a break, they cut back and lay off thousands.
also, in less than 50 years, there will be no more oil. so what then? should we ignore the alternatives for jobs that will lead to a complete economic collapse faced by the next generation of americans?

In the longer term, perhaps, we could think about doing away with "jobs." One day oil companies, war and even latte drinking will pass...
