I recently got 6 moori blue dolpins they are cool to watch.. Do you know how big they get? I was just wondering.... I have 6 mooris, 1 bumble bee 2 black striped convicts and a blue/ Black striped one I got with the 6 mooris
Buy crushed coral. Can get at Petco; fairly cheap. Great for a Malawi setup because the Calcium in coral helps buffer water aroudn pH 8. Could also just use sand; I use silica sand you can buy at Home depot for $8 for a 100 lb bag. Both look great in tanks.
@alexmuw unfortunate i dont think you can have sand in a fresh water tank
we dont have a petco in the uk
i think coral crushed or otherwise also is for saltwater but not sure on that one
im abit of a flop when it comes to making my tank look good, i kinda want the natural look with a few rocks and stuff like some of the you tubers on here but i dont want live plants
You can have sand in a freshwater tank. I currently have a 75 gallon with a trimac and a WC festae (red terror) with a sand subtrate. They love building mounds with the sand.
Crushed coral is usually used in African cichlid setups to raise water pH. pH will usually buffer out at about 8, which is appropriate with most setups. I use a mixture of pea gravel and crushed coral in my setup.
How come it doesn't chase the smaller one around?? My big blue moorii is such a bully and will chase the smaller moorii! It really annoy coz I had to put a separator in the tank.. it ruin the tank decor!!! :(

the white gravel
im trying to choose a gravel that would best reflect the ocean because i have a tropical tank so i thought of white
but im concerned that in a short period of time the white gravel will go pale or dull and look horrible so im not sure what to choose
