  • LOL FOUND IN TRASH!!!!!!

  • Can it run Cyrsis????

  • 28MB on disk? Wow

  • Oh my god. Please do a how to video

  • Hi!

I did not use an ethernet card. I used the appletalk port in the SE to connect it to a LAN that had internet access.

    Thank you

  • @tomazcoelho3 Hello!

Can you tell me, how did you connect to the LAN over appletalk? Did you have to buy an adapter? And where is the appletalk port? Is it the one that has the phone next to it? I have a macintosh SE and would very much like to get it on the internets. Thanks!

  • Really nice work! I gotta say though, that I cannot get MacWWW to work at all on my Mac SE using an Asante ethernet card and system 6 or 7. I don't have any trouble when I use System 7 and other browsers, but would prefer to use System 6. What is your secret?

  • i bet this thing could handle crysis

  • From the beginning of this video, I knew you may well have understood synths

  • Can you use the browser with System 6.0.8.?

  • Will the same online method only work with the Macintosh SE or can it work with the Classic too?

  • @FordCrownVictoriaV8

You can do it with any mac that has appletalk ports, system 6, web browser, IP control panel.

The other mac has to have at least sys 7, ethernet, TCP/IP to appletalk bridge software and of course internet access.

  • @tomazcoelho3: Can I use an Ethernet to SCSI adapter?

  • @FordCrownVictoriaV8

Yes, that the best way to do it.

Do you have the software for the adapter?

  • What was wrong with it, why was it showing a sad Mac?

  • @FordCrownVictoriaV8

It had a couple of bad RAM modules.

The analog board was not perfect too.

  • ok so if you have a mac se and you have a broadband connection, how do you get the connection to go through the mac se?

  • Ethernet card. SEs were robust machines for their time.

  • @carlomac

I used the appletalk ports and connection software to make an internet share from a later mac 7300. The 7300 had ethernet and supplied the web access to the little SE.

  • wait, i thought all the se's that had two disk drives didn't have a hard drive. I thought the se's with one floppy drive had the hard drive......

  • @rwagoner Some people were able to mod a hard disk into the system.

  • @kabj06 cool

  • All you need is at

    jagshousedotcom

  • Is there any way to link the Macintosh SE to the internet if your only other working computer is a PC? The only Macintosh that I have besides my SE is a 1999 iMac, and it doesn't work.

  • Nice - was that via dialup, or did you hook up an ethernet connection? I'd been trying to get my recently deceased SE/30 online (got vertical lines the other day, so it looks like the logic board is smoked), but couldn't work out the proper MacTCP settings (got an ethernet card plugged in).

  • I connected the SE throu appletalk to a mac 7300 and shared the 7300 internet connection with the SE

  • I recently bricked a Classic II trying to run Flight Simulator (should've known better to trust a MS product). Now I'm on a Vista machine with a floppy drive and I need to rescue it from Sad Mac status. I've been trying to make boot disks using 68k emulators but I'm hitting dead ends everywhere.

    Got any tips for me?

  • hmmm...

Either you take out the drive and install eveyithing using another mac, or you buy another floppy on ebay.

    Best!

  • What is the music on this video, anyone know?

  • Kool and the Gang - "Summer Madness"

  • i got a vintage macintosh se fdhd and it has perfect display and all i need is an adb mouse and keyboard.

  • System 6.0.4

  • oh 8Ghz

  • No it's a Motorola 68000 32-bit CPU running at 8 MHz.

  • Wow great video man, love the music. I grew up on a II, but thats and an iphone are the only apple products I have owned, hope to get a gx mac and a 68k mac soon though.

  • Good to see the little guy up and running again.

  • what is this song?

  • summer madness by kool and the gang

  • thank you very much ;)

  • I used to this with lynx webbrowser on My commodore 128 d

  • That was one sad mac. But do you know what cheers it up? Adding more RAM! That's what I did. Now my old Classic II runs flawlessly.

  • djb2002,did you got the message?Mac SE,is good for text only, doesnt need memory enough to READ TEXT on the internet. If this guy like his computer, thats what really matters!.Vintage computers Rules.

  • Wow that's an accomplishment! and here i was all proud that i finally got my performa online with system 7!

  • minivmac

emulator for mac SE and plus

  • mac os 6 was the minimum requirement to use internet for a mac

  • this is cool :D my mac got drowned for 3 weeks.. heavy rain fall, flooded the storage with my collection of classic computers.. mac se WAS dead but the only thing that didn't work was the harddrive.. problem, cracked diode from the rust.. so replaced that, and IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!! :D APPLE RULEZ!! i also got a MAC SE/30 but that one was ontop of the SE, the water didn't get that high.. ;)

  • slick vid. Good work.

  • Amazing what a little computer like the Mac SE could do and STILL can do! Sadly, what it was capable of back with 2 MB of RAM nowadays needs over 2 GB. Sad, isn't it?
