  • @ 3:50 You mention that you need to wet the back of the strap where the transmitter is located. Actually, it's the electrodes (the silver colored areas) on the strap that needs to be wetted...

  • @lear31apilot Yes... The grey area, you have to wet... not the black... Cheers...

  • hi, im planning to buy this watch because my old timex road trainer watch band is broken.. can i ask if this watch is user replaceable battery.

  • @jetzski87 The battery on the rs300x is not user replaceable. For a comparable product I would check out the Garmin FR60. It has comparable features at a comparable price, and a user replaceable battery. If you want GPS you could check other Garmin heart rate monitors as I think most of them are user replaceable batteries. If you want to stick with Polar here is a link that tells you which of their products have batteries you can replace yourself.

  • @jetzski87 polarusa.com/us-en/support/service?product=&category=Service+Information&documenttitle=Battery+replacement+in+your+Polar+receiver&document=/gip/PEUS1kb-public.nsf/web_cat/85256F470048B0BC852574B800598099

  • @jetzski87 You can replace the battery with a small, simple Phillips (cross-head) screwdriver and a CR2032 battery. Take care with the rubber gasket (as you would with any rubber gasket seal between mating surfaces) and don't overtorque the back-plate. The device is reliable. The Flowlink data connector is not so easy, specific units bearing an older serial number cannot read the RS300x data, but newer models (which look the same) do. I ran into this problem buying secondhand. Great watch!

  • Why do you prefer a watch? Isn't there an iPhone app that you can use with a Polar chest strap?

  • @DerekZimmer Hi Derek, just try to run (I mean, RUN) and look an iPhone screen.

  • Good video Mike!

  • I love the intro Mike, aside from the intro, another awesome review, you are without doubt one of the best tech reviewers on YouTube and it is always a pleasure to watch you videos and learn.

  • interesting.. can't wait to try this and add to my workouts..
