  • how long did it take your hair to grow to that length?

  • This has got to be the first useful video I have found. I think we have alomost the same texture of hair. I chose to stop relaxing my hair, since it's so soft anyway, but I"m so sad, that none of the styling I've tried so far have lasted. They just straighten out. :(. I'll try this, your video has given me fresh hope..

  • Omg I love your hair...

I just bought the cantu shea butter, and leave in conditioner, but I was wondering if it will work the same if I single plat my hair since I can't cornrow...?

  • GORGEOUS!!!

  • Tu es des antilles?

  • I like the video... so, I subscribed!

  • is that zouk music?

    sounds like it

  • @rahanad yup, it's zouk

  • @jerseystylezz I like this song. Which country does this music come from and what's the name of the group that made this song.

  • Oh this is sooo cute on you! I am going to try this out. Gonna subscribe too. I've tried Cantu several times, and didn't give me the results I was looking for, but that was during my earlier stages of natural hair when I had no idea what I was doing. I may reconsider.

  • i love this braid out girl i'm going to try it right now. thanks for this video!

  • Wish I'd seen this when my hair was still in TWA stage. I love it! I've tried braidouts but I haven't had any success. My hands prevent me from cornrowing my hair for the most part but, I hope to add it to a list of styles that I do on occasion.

Oh, & I love Cantu Shea Butter Leave-in. (Available at Wal-Mart for those who asked) However, raw/unrefined shea butter does produce comparable results without shrinkage because it doesn't contain as much water. I also whip it with coconut oil.

  • i have a question plz plz help! do i have 2 use dah shea butter nd all dat other stuff?? cuz mi hair is sooo nappy n i have absolutely no idea wat 2 do with it but im trying 2 let it grow. does ani1 have ani hairstyle ideas or even tips?

  • @stArridarling I would recommend that you do you a product to set the hair. Shea butter is the easiest.

  • Love yr hair. Question? After u washed yr hair I see U put in the Condition and Oil and then U use Shea Butter before you braided yr hair. DID U rinse anything out? Oh one more question did you braid it back up the next day?

  • @SLIMWITHABS No, I didn't rinse anything out. I did braid my hair back after and did a dry braid out for the fuller look at the end of the vid.

  • Love yr hair. Question? After u washed yr hair I see U put in the Condition and Oil and then U use Shea Butter before you braided yr hair. DID U rinse anything out?

  • do you under or over hand, and did you sit under the drier or let it air dry?

  • Your hair looks awesome!! :-) i dont know if you addressed this or not but after the 3 days do you comb your hair out or detangle it or anything like that before you rebraid it? that may be a silly question but i've never done a braid out before.

  • @qalamama No, I don't come my hair out to detangle. I just loosely detangle with my fingers and rebraid.

  • cute girl

  • Medhy Custos "elles demandent du zouk"! tu as des origines françaises?

  • @misscordelia03 yup! Haitienne

  • Do you think this look can be achieved if you dont wash it, but just apply moisturizer to dry hair and then cornrow?

  • @88chileshe yep, but not as defined.... the second part of the vid shows the results of my braidout on dry hair, only applying a little leave in and shea butter.

  • Your hair is beautiful. I am going to try this because I'm starting to get frustrated with this 4b hair of mine. Thanks for sharing. You've given me hope!!

  • thanks for the vid I love your hair just beautiful..

  • hi! did you plait your hair afterward, or did you cornrow it everynight?

  • That is nice...

  • Love it. I've been trying twist outs lately. Gonna try this braid out next. Thanks for the video.

  • Your hair is so beautiful.

  • your hair turned out so cute

  • @djsweethots...I thought I was the only one!! lol...that's a really cute style Jerseystylezz..

  • Suppper cute...Too bad I don't know how to cornrow! It's such a travesty...black girl who can't cornrow! lol Can I even teach myself?

  • @djsweethots lol, you are funny. Anyone can learn to braid really. It comes natural to some, but many have to be taught. :)

  • @jerseystylezz I need to find a class, girl!! I need help! :P

  • @djsweethots There are probably cornrow tutorials here on You Tube.

  • @djsweethots i dnt either that sucks lls

  • @djsweethots You're not alone, Slim...you're not alone.

  • @djsweethots You're not the only one, lol.

  • @djsweethots you're not the only one lol

  • @djsweethots oh yeah you can.you can teach yourself.it just takes practice thats all and then you will get the hang of it :-)

  • @djsweethots lmao! u r not the only blk girl that can't braid her hair. lol

  • @battyliscious I can't too its hard!

  • @djsweethots LOL

Girl! I'm learning right now myself! I can do cornrows to the side, but never to the back..which is odd. But still, just watch people and practice on yourself and friends...if they let you(:

  • @djsweethots I thought that I was the only one...womp womp womp

  • Comment removed

  • You kinda remind me of Lauren London! I love your results but I don't know how to do cornrows so I don't think I could ever try this style :(

  • Beautiful, your hair looks nice and thick. If our hair was straight people wouldnt think that we are half bald, but I know and I am thankful I do have hair. My hair is shorter and thinner in the front so I am looking for different styles to show my lovely 4b,c hair. Thanks for taking the time to share. B.)

  • CUte! and great music

  • gonna try this!

  • beautiful hair girl.

  • Your hair looks wonderful. I've been trying to get my hair to look like that for months now. I've been relaxer free (still not sewin or micro free, lol) for about two years now. Where can I get cantu shea butter?

  • I love that song u speak french lmao I`m subscibing

  • cantu shea butter? r u sure?! cuz that stuff turned my hair into a dry, brittle, crackly mees (with airdry) i havent used it since, do u still use it--btw curls turned out nicely.

  • LOVE IT!!!! How long does this style last & how do you take care of it at night??

  • @msblackrose79 This style can last anywhere from 3 days to a full week for me, depending on how I care for it at night. If I just thow my bonnet on at night, it will last for 3 days. If I rebraid my hair at night, it will last for the full week.

  • that is really cute on i like how you swooped your edges

  • you have to be from and Island, loooove the music guuuurrlll! too short.

  • I tranistioned for a year and have an afro just a little shorter than your hair, so I'll keep an eye on your videos.

Your hair looks amazing and you are just adorable. I love our spirit. Please keep making videos as you learn so I can learn with you.

  • Hello your hair style is gorgeous, I have a question for you, I am a new natural and I'd like to know what your hair type is, because I can't figure out mine but yours looks like mine, soooooo.....I thought if you could tell me yours, I'd know what mine is!

  • your real pretty, plus i like the music where you from?

  • Wonderful video. I am doing my first natural braid-out right now. Hope it turns out ok. (((crossing fingers)))

  • Girl! You killed that braid out! You are working the h*ll out of that one! (I need to learn how to cornrow)

  • so cute just wish I knew how to braid

  • Beautiful! I really like the results with the regular African Shea Butter.. :)

  • how did u upkeep this style? i like it! but u should prob try picking ur roots out with a pick

  • @angi0517 I moisturize my hair. I don't greese my scalp though.

  • LOVE IT....i am going to try this next time i was my hair..do it take a long time for your hair to dry? i think i have same hair type as your and i notice it takes a very LONG TIME for mines to dry

  • @MrsJdafirstlady, Yes, my hair takes a very long time to dry. I always do my hair in the evening when I completely wet it so it can dry over night. I'm reluctant to try a washngo finally because of the drying time.

  • goergous! love the music too. i know it's zouk but who is the singer?

  • @jilberia86

It is "Elles demandent du zouk" sung by Medhy Custos
